"AIDA" Departs Southampton July 30th With A Belly Full of MINIs!
Hang in there, Greg. We're pullin' for you!
Congratulations to everyone who's picking theirs up over the next few days! I'm getting mine tomorrow, but the Union Jack scuttles are not here yet, so I'll have to come back for those.
My MA asked if I'd rather have them keep the car until the scuttles arrive so they could install them and I said "No way! I want my MINI now!"
99.9% of the car is here. That's good enough for me!

Mini...Vette...Mini...Vette...Mini...Vette???
Help! I can't stay out of the garage...
This car is so cool...more than expected. I've had over 30-some cars in my lifetime, and this is the second coolest one ever. She shares the garage with my most favorite car ever -2005 Corvette convertible. If you had told me six months ago that a Mini would be competing with my Corvette for most favorite, I would never have believed you.

I know how you feel, brother. There's a car similar to the one you've got that sometimes parks on the street where I live. It's hard to take my eyes off of it. Very high cool factor. Post pix of it if or when you can. We'd love to see it!
That goes for EVERYONE. It will be GREAT to see all of our shipmates.

Before you know it, everyone will be "motoring!" Probably won't hear much from everyone for a bit, but I hope everyone posts photos of their new arrivals.
Due to the flurry of posts (or lack there of) it is my gleeful assumption that all of you new MINI owners are either picking up your babies or taking them out for their first spin. I thought that I would take this opportunity to thank each of you for allowing me to live vicariously through your experiences as you tracked your MINI's from the factory to their new homes. Oh, by the way, I'm Kikimowse, Bitzie's sister. I adopted my MINI on July 5, 2008. The sweetest little Pepper White Sidewalk Cabrio on earth (just a little biased).
My baby was an Executive Demo owned by BMW North America, a foster child of sorts. I had my heart set on a Pepper White Cabrio and placed an order with my MA the same day that BMW stopped taking Cabrio orders! He hunted all over the Western United States to find my baby for me and would you believe he was sitting right on my MA's lot. He had just arrived and my MA had mistaken him for an automatic rather than my desired manual. (Would you believe we did this all via the internet). I really had never considered the Sidewalk package, so I had reservations. Well, needless to say, it was love at first sight when I saw him for the first time the morning of July 5th. I only added a chrome front grille and black bonnet stripes as one does not need to mess with perfection. Oh, and I did add a British flag Mickey Mouse antenna ball, just so he would not forget his roots.
Anyway, "MINI" and I just wanted to thank you for the adventure and wish you all the best in motoring fun. In just the nearly two months that MINI and I have been together it has been nothing but fun. I cannot help but smile when MINI and I are together. He is anxiously awaiting the arrival of his new little brother next weekend when Bitzie picks up her baby "COOP".
Take care all and "Let's Motor!"

I posted a couple of pics in my gallery. We took about a hundred but that's all I could upload without lowering the res (quality over quantity) ... I'll delete those and add more tomorrow.
Good luck to everyone still waiting - I'm sure you'll have your baby in no time. You are going to LOVE IT!
Congrats to all those lucky enough to have theirs already. Wow. What a great little car!

I'm glad you had the opportunity to learn a little more about your car's history. The 'net sure has proven to be a valuable tool for MINI owners, hasn't it? Bitzie has been instrumental in recording our MINIs' adventure from half a world away, and her enthusiasm is infectious! I'm sure you had something to do with that.
I couldn't say it better!
I'm officially in love...with my CAR!
This is probably one of the coolest things I've ever purchased. I can't believe how great the phone sync works. I already programmed in names and tried it out. It's great! Especially because California has that mandatory hands-free cellular phone use in effect.
I spent the better part of an hour going over my new car's features with my MA, who is one of the most helpful and knowledgeable sales people I've met. And he's a total MINI fan because he's got one too, and was able to show me things a lot of ordinary sales people might not know about their cars. Kudos to Creed Cate of Niello MINI!
Here I am getting acquainted with my baby...

I can't wait for my UNION JACK SCUTTLES to arrive. They'll be my first "mod." Uh-oh...I'm talking about mods already. That's dangerous!
Anywho, thanks all for being such fun sports and sharing your experiences and your photos. Keep 'em coming!

Awesome wheels!
Awesome wheels AvidMINI and MinnieMama. Oh and Avid, it's time to update your badge. You are now officially an owner!
So pigzoom, did you sleep in the garage last night?
Gregp84 - and......., I'm on pins and needles.
Anyone hear from RXStoMCS? Open highway I presume.
Again, congrats to all. We all own a little bit of heaven right here on earth!

Thanks, Kikimowse. I am just living large (for lack of a better word) with my MINI. I just keep marveling over the little surprises that meet me around every corner, from the opera lighting in the car, to the ability to change the accent lighting throughout with a toggle, to the simple reassurances such as a locking fuel door and a spare tire to go along with my run-flat tires!
I neglected to mention how cool I thought your story was on how you acquired your Sidewalk edition MINI. I first spotted one up in Seattle and it took me by surprise, as I thought it was a total custom job! So, you should take a measure of pleasure in knowing it is somewhat rare. Very distinctive styling, for sure. I like it!
Now I'm looking for excuses to drive somewhere!
PS - I updated my signature, but now I've got to figure out how to add the "Chili Red Owner's Club" shield to my "beauty shots!"

I hope everyone has had a great first weekend with their MINI! Mine was defiantly great!!! In the first 36 hours that I've had mine, I've motored about 220 miles (6 miles were on the odometer when I picked him up). This evening I made a quick trip to the store and stayed out an extra 45 minutes just cruising. The car will be broken-in in no time!
I've traveled all over Orange County last night and today. It's a shame, I've lived here for almost two years and I've pretty much have never driven east of I-5. It's great out there!
Well, here are some shots I took this afternoon. And this is a first; I'm excited for Monday morning to arrive just so I can get on the road again!

Beautiful pix!
I can't blame you for wanting to log in as many miles as possible. I feel the same way. I bet you can't wait to show your car to your coworkers. It's cool that you're exploring new territory with your car; owning this car might become more of an adventure than you originally thought!
I'm very happy with my car. I've got to go back to the dealer next week to pick up my Union Jack scuttles and to have the hood alignment checked. It's rubbing against my passenger side headlamp. It may become a problem if it's not addressed now. Otherwise, I'm livin' large. I just programmed a bunch of numbers into my bluetooth phone and programmed my garage door opener. I'm also getting used to the stereo controls. Very cool car!

Thanks, oldsbear! Happy motoring to you.
Yeah, Bitzie!
I hope you post pix for us. I'd like to meet "MYE COOP!"
Hang in there, jhbjrpdx. It'll be home before you know it...and I hope you share photos of it with us as well. Can't get enough!
Yeah, Bitzie!

Yea greg84! Thanks for keeping us posted. Look forward to pictures. Postive thoughts jhbjrpdx, it's worth the wait!
Bitzie is driving my 84 BMW until Friday when she can pick up her COOP. Beemie was doing just fine until I brought MINI home in July, then he started falling apart. He began leaking transmission fluid all over the place. I told the guys at work that I think he is commiting sucide as he knows he is being sold once COOP arrives. They disagreed and said he is marking his territory!
Last Friday I had to replace the brake master cylinder as he was attemping to kill me. I borrowed the car Thursday night (did not want to take MINI into the good part of town at night - numerous car thefts) and Beemie proceeded to suck his brake fluid into the engine and leave me with hardly any brakes. I never knew he had such a temper.

I'm not superstitious in the least, but sometimes I think cars know when they're going to be put out to pasture. Or maybe we become more keenly aware of their idiosyncrasies!
Go Greg go! Let's see that puppy when you get it!

Question to those of you that have picked up your cars already. I posted this question to the Cabrio thread and did not receive a definative answer. In the gloveboxes of your cars, right above the two cupholder indentions on the glovebox door, do you have two, what appear to be clips, that could be used to hold a pen, pencil or stylus? What are those intended to hold? Did your new car come with something clipped in them? I have not found any reference to them in the owner's manual. Since my baby was a Demo, I am wondering if I am missing something. Any clues?
