Sorry to hear about your blemish. All I can say is that it doesn't show in the photos.

That's good. I'm glad you can't spot it so easily. I guess it's just another case of the owner knowing every flaw.

Here's a thread I started on it: https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...d.php?t=152296

I'll have to pursue the issue once the dealer reopens on Tuesday.

Hey MinnieMama,

I'm sorry to hear about your tire but I might have some good news for you. In your packet of litterateur that came in your glove compartment, there's a CD with warranty information regarding your tires. There are two PDFs on the CD that go over Goodyear's and I think this may help you...

Coverage
Free Replacement
Any new Goodyear Eagle NCT5 or Eagle RS-A EMT tire removed from service due to a covered warranty condition or rendered not repairable due to a road hazard injury during the first 2/32” treadwear or 12 months from date of purchase, whichever occurs first, will be replaced at no charge.
Mounting and balancing are included. Repairable punctures will also be repaired at no charge during
this period. (Without proof of purchase, date of manufacture will be used to determine age.)

2/32" doesn't sound like a lot but it's a shot.

Good luck!

Gave mine it's first bath. Didn't find any paint blemishes. Already gave it it's first 'bling', a sticker in the back window that says "actual size" :-)

Ooh! I want one of those stickers! They crack me up. Definitely on my list of things to get.

I'm glad you didn't have any unpleasant surprises after your baby's first bath!

Found this on eBay $2.99 for two.

They appear periodically, usually on eBay Motors

I love it! I know others have applied them, but I still get a kick out of it.

Thanks RSXtoMCS. I forgot all about that - I'll have to check it out. Over $300 including installation, I'd definitely like to get it back.

I also gave Minnie her first bath and already we have a little ding on the bonnet - must have had a rock fly up. Oh, well. It had to happen sometime.

MinnieMama, you accepted your first battle scar with grace and dignity. I know I'll be a basket case when I get my first ding! As you suggested, it's gonna happen sooner or later. But to be honest, I would rather get a ding now than have a factory blemish! I've got to bring my car into the dealer for a spot repair on the driver's door. I only hope they don't have to sand the whole door down to bare metal! The damage covers a small area (about a square inch) on the lower part of the door, so I hope they can confine their work to that section.

I wish you luck recouping some of your tire expenditure, but I'm curious about Goodyear's language regarding the tread wear. Wouldn't 2/32" be the same as 1/16"? I'm no math geek, but even I know simple fractions!

Who knew?

Who knew, that a little car could lift the dark cloud of a simply awful day at work? Who knew, that after five minutes behind the wheel, I no longer cared that my email doesn't work, I can't print, my phone won't sinc, I cannot see my Outlook calendar, I cannot remotely log in and I may never see my files again? I left the building feeling like I had returned to the pre-electronic dark ages and there she was.... her chrome grille smiling at me and her xenon eyes looking at me with excitement. I slid behind the wheel, started her up and the happy little rumble of her engine was music to my ears. I felt the same joy as the first time I saw her on the Crevier lot.

Bring it on world, there is nothing that MINI and I can't handle!

I can definitely relate...but I've got to wait until tomorrow night to drive my car again! It's at the dealer getting a blemish removed from the door. Oh well, at least I'll have it for the weekend!

Kikimowse, it's cool that you still feel the same way about your car as when it was new. I hope to feel the same way about mine.

WOW! What a project!

That's uber cool. So you're going to have the best of both worlds: a Classic Mini and a Modern MINI. Sweet!

Mitemini, that car is sweet! Very tastefully optioned out. I love it. It's like the older brother of mine, the one who's on steroids! Very aggressive looking ground effects. You must be stoked. Are you tearing up the pavement already?

Best of luck with it...and with your classic Mini too!

Just for fun, I wanted to post these photos of a model of a Wallenius Wilhelmsen ship I discovered while touring Chinatown in San Francisco today...

I have no idea why this model was on display. It was in a small display window, along with another ship. I just thought it was cool how I came across it. People must have thought I was a kook snapping pix of it!

That model looks very cool! Hey I took a photo of MINI's in a parking lot tonight at the first MidCal MINI meet that my sister and I went to, so taking pictures in weird places goes with the territory :-)

That's pretty funny. Yeah, I never expected to come across a model of a PCTC...least of all in Chinatown! It just goes to show you that it's good to have a camera with you at all times.

Car meets and brand-specific meets such as those involving MINIs are a lot of fun, but they can be dangerous. Not to life or limb (although that sometimes does happen), but to your wallet! People always have the neatest things done to their cars and feature some of the coolest mods. Nothing will encourage you to invest in your car faster than seeing a cool mod on another!

I'm glad you and your sister are enjoying the social aspects of MINI ownership!

Is that the same as the "MINI Adventure Field Kit"? I got one of those, and THREE "MINI PARKING ONLY" stencils to tag my garage floor, walls, etc.

New owner adventure kit

Glad to hear you all are getting your kits. I got mine about 2 weeks aqo, but it seems the contents differ considerably from kit to kit. For example, I did not receive the "mini parking only" stencils that avidMINI got. Here are the contents of my kit (IMPORTANT: Read no futher if you wish to keep your kit a SURPRISE): 1) Black Mini log book/diary 2) Mini computer mouse pad 3) Top Secret envelope with cool 3-D glasses, etc 4) Roadside assistance card 5) Small two-compartment mini-wallet 6) Cool mini pen 7) Field Guide to Good Motoring book 8) Idiosyncrasies of yoiur New Mini card 9) A roll of window poetry stickers that allow you to make custom window stickers.

All of this stuff is very cool and it was fun to receive. I Never received anything on purchase of other new cars. Mini (BMW) is pretty smart!
Does anyone know if BMW does this for their BMW brand cars?

Take care everyone - happy motoring!

I received the same kit you did, also about 2 weeks ago. No parking stencils yet. They do try to make their customers feel 'special', don't they?

Delivery two months ago yesterday. So much fun to drive and also we get a lot of attention everywhere we go. Everyone asks about Minnie - a couple of people at work ask me everyday ... I think there's a couple of potential customers ... maybe I can get a commission.

Hope everyone is enjoying their MINI as much as I am!
