I made a dumb mistake on my order

I didnt want the Convenient Pck because I didnt like the armrest, auto rain sensor/headlight, and Garage Opener. But I wanted Comfort Access, MFSW, $500 BT/USB, Auto Dim rear mirror.

Well guess what... At the end, my pck costs me $1500 which is the SAME price of Convenient Pck. Its too late to change now i think...

Its not like I will ever use those options, but its like "Free".. i just didnt get it.. im dumb.. dumb.. dumb....

There are so many options, tis easy to make a mistake. You're not the first, and you won't be the last. And you'll probably forget all about it once you get your sweet ride and start motoring.

IF you are a week 32 build, you may still have an opportunity to make that change, check w/your MA. I made changes up until a few weeks before my MINI was built.

No...you are not dumb. I did the same thing. I chose the IDENTICAL items that you did and for good reason. From experience, I DONT like the rain-sensing windshield. I had it on a previous BMW and I do have it on my current M Roadster. If you have to have your windshield replaced, the rain sensor must also be replaced...and try finding THAT readily in stock someplace. I had to have two new windshields on my previous BMW. One because the rainsensor was not properly attached to the glass and would just work when it wanted to or just randomly...it was crazy. And the second windshield was hit with a rock and I had to wait to get the windshiled replaced because it had to be ORDERED @ the BMW dealership. uuugh! I HATE the auto sensing of the headlights as well. I want them on when I WANT THEM ON. I also see the comfort access thing a total joke. It takes no less energy to push a button on the FOB to unlock the car than pressing the button on the door. What a waste of money. Also, the comfort access BT/USB is in that aweful sliding armrest....I am buying the Euro Armrest, so no need for the comfort version. You didnt make a bad decision at all!

EDIT: oops! I see you got Comfort USB/BT. ick. I got the regular BT/USB connection because I want the Euro Armrest...more function and doesnt slide open!

Thanks for the support... hahah I never used auto sensing wiper or auto headlight on my BMW either.. i did everything by manual... armrest was too small when i saw it at the dealer... and I dont use garage opener thing.. im fine with a remote clicker hidden by the side pocket... but still.. same money.... less toys i got.

Comfort Access is that dumb? Can you start the engine when the key isnt in and u just press Start?? Or Do you still have to have the access remote in the starter next to the button?

Seriously... comfort access is one of the best options. Until you've come back from the grocery store with your arms full, or you just don't feel like digging for a key in your pocket, this is one awesome feature.

You never have to get out your key again. The doors open for you and your car starts all on their own, just knowing you are there. What more can you ask for?

I dont like the Comfort access for me simply because I hate the way the door handle looks...I just see some type of electrical issues with it in the future. I wont be using the MINI to haul groceries or anything, (Thats what the FJ Cruiser is for) so I should always a have a free hand to hit the FOB button. I guess I will just have to exert all that energy to put the key in the slot and hit START.

I have remote access, and it's a "smart key". I lost one and went to the dealer to replace it - for over $300 including programming. I refused, and the dealer said that if I lost the second key they would have to order a new processor since the codes are not able to be duplicated without an original key. That would cost $1,200. So I either pay $300 for a new key, or risk paying $1,200 for a new processor if I lose the second key.

Yes, it's nice to open the door in the rain without a key, but at what cost? I have no idea if the electronics will require service in the future, but my current BMW has lots of electrical problems, and I'd not order the remote access again.

Just my experience, you may have a different opinion.

Call your MA, and ask whether they can throw some more parts in the bin! You KNOW you'll regret not at least trying. If they say "no," then, hey, don't sweat it. You'll love the car, regardless of the features. You won't think "Man, I wish I had automatic headlights" while you're tooling around a corner at speed.

I did it also, but deliberatly. I didn't want the Crown Spoke wheels, so I ended up paying the same for the Flame Spokes, stripes and a few other things, where as I could have bought the sport pack and got Sport Suspension. To each is own. And I agree, in a week or so after getting the car you won't even care anymore haha
