All Aboard the Sierra Nevada Highway

Well, I am thinking positive and assuming my Mini is aboard the Sierra Nevada Highway. Since it is a K-Line ship we won't know for sure for about a week. If my Mini is not aboard some of you will be so let's start tracking her. She left port (Southampton) about an hour ago or 11:30 Central time on July 5, 2008. She is due into Charleston July 17.

Thanks for starting the thread!

I am wishing and hoping that my PW Clubman is also aboard this ship. Been waiting at the dock for 10 days already.

Time to start bugging my MA for any details on the ship. I'll post any info I get on here.

Sit back and enjoy the wait.

It doesn't look like this ship makes any position reports on Sail wx. Great. We may not know where it is until it gets near Baltimore.

I'm on board. Just confirmed it with my MA. I will be coming through Charleston, so I am waiting for the 17th. To track the ship (with delay), try this link:

Well if all of you Clubman's haven't taken up all the dang room on the Sierra, then my MCS Hatchback might be traveling with you . Hey BDH, futuremini and OKC when were you delivered to Southampton? MrsZ I think you were there a day after me if memory serves.

I was "at the port" on June 24.

Wow JIMI I can't believe you are still at the port. Have you tracked your mini or talked to your MA? I got to the port on the 27th. I know there were other minis made after all of ours that got shipped out before us. Still haven't figured that one out. Oh well at least they are finally on the way!

Wow - some of you guys are making my 10-day wait at the port seem like the fast track!

JIMI -- your MCS hatchback is probably hitching a ride on top of one of our Clubbies -- maybe mine since ours are both headed to Texas.

Hey OKC have you verified this with your MA? Seems like it is first at the docks and last to leave. Seen too many reports of cars getting to the dock on 1 day and then leaving on a ship within a day or two while others wait.

Yes I verified this with my MA and the Owner's Lounge now says that it is en route as well. Since mine will be coming through Charleston, I am anticipating delivery around the 23rd (in the port on the 17th).

That is my expected date too OKC. This was told to me by my MA but it won't get here soon enough though.

Whoa...wait a minute...

Destination: CHARLESTON (ETA Jul15 13:00)

July 15??? I thought ETA in Charleston was July 17??? The Port of Charleston site still shows July 17.

I think I would take that ETA with a grain of salt. With KLINE ships, the tracking information is pretty sparse. It looks to be at least 500 nautical miles from Virginia Beach (the last plot) to Charleston. According to the plots, the are making at most 19 knots, so figure over 24 hours to Charleston from early this morning.

Of course, this is assuming you can trust the reported speed ...

Deep breaths. That's what I am doing ...

Yes to OKC, that was the math I came up with as well. Some good news is that it appears the Union Pier terminal will have an open berth if the Sierra gets in a day early.

Getting closer every minute! I agree with OKC to take it with a grain of salt but if it gets here a day earlier I am good with that.

According to the Port of Charleston http://www.port-of-charleston.com/Vessel_schedule.asp, Sierra Nevada Highway is due in tomorrow ...

The waiting is the hardest part...

I think we are in port! Check this link:

It shows the Sierra Nevada Highway in Charleston Harbor.
