Hi All,

I'm Jim and have owned a Mini since '05. Glad to be aboard.

Here's my question. I live in Chicago and my '05 Mini is now passed warranty with very low mileage (about 17,000). The first "scheduled maintenance" aside from oil changes is coming up and I'm looking for qualified techs. to do the work - other than a dealer. Who would you recommend in Chicago that's legit, does good work and knows Mini's?

Your help and guidance is most appreciated.

I know I"m not in your area, but if you don't get suggestions right away:

I'd suggest you link in with your local MINI motoring club...most of them have at least ONE mechanically-oriented person, and can either help w/ your issue directly, or be able to recommend someplace.

My other idea is: check w/your local dealer to see who they might recommend...might want to stick with BMW/MINI-savvy mechanics, though.
