Indeed, thanks again. I hope you're MA has some tricks up their sleeve so you can enjoy your new ride as soon as possible

I guess that might make your MA's quota but just down the wire for you :(

I know they're not, but it does feel like they get some sadistic pleasure out of making us wait. hehe

Conflicting tracking info?

On Friday I was told my car was being released to the trucking company early Saturday. Today I was told it is at the VDC undergoing work and should be released sometime this week. Anyone else experience back and forth on what they were told? I know this is all stuff I'll forget once the car arrives but just curious. The ship my Mini was on docked on Wednesday and my dealer is only a 2 hour drive from the port.

So far...
I put the order in for a Countryman S on 07/09/14 with my MA. He returned my production order on 07/10/14 for approval. I sent it back to him same day. I called him 07/15/14 and asked him if he could send me the production order number. He emailed me back with the production and vin # and say "The car was built yesterday!! You my friend have great timing."

My MA told me they run different models through the factory twice a month. I guess I happen to land on one of those days. I checked yesterday in the owners lodge after getting off the phone with my MA and it came up as "On Order". I checked again this morning 07/16/14 and it came up as "In Production"

So now I wait. I am in Los Angeles. From previous posts it looks like I have a long wait on the shipment. Which is good since I will try and sell my current gas drinking vehicle during that time.

All ask-mini calls were the automated system.

7/09/14 - Ordered Placed with Dealer
7/10/14 - Ordered Approved and sent to Factory
7/15/14 - Vehicle in Production
7/22/14 - In Paint Shop (called 866-ask-mini)
7/23/14 - Released for Transportation (called 866-ask-mini)
7/26/14 - Awaiting Transportation (owners club info)
7/28/14 - Arrived at Port (dealer info)
7/29/14 - At Port Waiting A Shipping Vessel (866-ask-mini)

I will update this post as things progress.

Congratulations Kriky. I'm nearing in on a 12-week wait on my Roadster, also in the LA area (ordered from Mini of Monrovia). I missed the UK departure by one day, had to wait another two weeks for a boat and was stuck at the VDC for two weeks. It's been slow, slow going but hopefully it will be worth it.

I also ordered from Monrovia. Countryman and Paceman are built in Germany so I'm guessing it will be on a different boat then yours unless it pulls in to port to load up in the UK. Either way it still has a long travel down to the Panama Canal before heading on north to CA.

I am only a couple of days behind you, Kriky, but I am in Oregon so the truck ride will be a lot longer.

7/15 on order
7/17 in prod due 7/24
7/18 in prod due 7/25 VIN showed up
7/23 in body shop
7/24 in paint shop
7/25 transported to port of exit

most of this is from the ask MINI line. Also the VIN showed up on 7/24 fully populated on the bmw vin decoder site.

Hopefully the cars get on a boat soon.

Just ordered a Blazing Red 2015 MINI Cooper S

Just ordered my 4th MINI! Yeah!!! a Blazing Red 2015 MINI Cooper S Hardtop, with bonnet stripes, Cold weather pkg, Sport pkg, JCW interior, Nav. system, and more. Already got my Prod. # within an hour from my MA.. Won't be getting my new baby till Oct though cause they won't be releasing the 2015's till then. (I had one sitting on dock already but didn't have everything I wanted and was told it wouldn't be released till Oct so dealer told me I might as well order the exact one I wanted cause it won't be here till Oct either.) Now I wait.....

I heard at the dealer the other day that all 2015s are stuck at port because MINI has not gotten their EPA sign off on the 2015 cars and they won't have that until October

Oh, hmm. I thought it was just on the F56. Only because there is a thread regarding the F56s deliverer. Are you sure it is on all Mini's?

I don't know if it's just the Hardtops or all the MINIs.. I was suppose to get a 2015 Hardtop MINI Cooper S that is sitting here in the US at the docks right now, But it wasn't exactly the one I wanted (they were going to have to add the heated seats and a sirius radio), but he said they wont be released till Oct.. so what I should do is go ahead and order the exact one I want as it wont be here till Oct either.

It's just the hard tops. Everything else is ok.

The only gotya might be if they start releasing the 2015s in four weeks or so. You might still have a three or four week wait but for the car you want. Also you know for pretty sure that your car won't sit out in the summer sun for a month or more. It's a guessing game. Good luck.

I'm seeing the new MINI in my dealership, not sure if everyone (base cooper vs MCS) is affected or not.

Oh how I remember the waiting for both of my Mini JCWs. Seems like forever, but then it's over. Happy roads to you all.

2015 Hardtop Release

Checked inventory of my dealer he has 2015 Countryman, Roadsters and Convertibles but no MC or MCS hardtops.. I think only the Hardtops were affected.. Figures.. and of course they release MC 1st.. This will be my 4th MINI but 1st one I got to go through all the steps with.. 1st was a used 2002 MC, 2nd was an already built 2006 MCS sitting on dock waiting to come over across the pond.. Lost my head and traded it for a 2012 Fiat Sport.. BIG mistake... Traded that for my 3rd, a 2008 MCS, sold it.. Now waiting on my 4th ..

8/2/2014 - Submitted order (told won't be released till 1st week Oct)
8/4/2014 - Approved
8/8/2014 - Scheduled for production
8/19/2014 - Awaiting Transport
8/29/2014 - En Route To VDC on K-Line
9/6/2014 - Arrived in Brunswick GA
10/1/2014 - Called MA - MCS will be released Oct 7 penciled in to pick up on 8th.

{9th or 10th - windows tinted}

disappointed but my 15 Paceman was not entered into production system correctly. I was then told that I had to wait until week 40 for production but have now pushed me back to week 43. I presume that is because the Countryman is selling like hotcakes compared to the Paceman. Maybe by the end of the year...grrr

I ordered my Mini Cooper S on October 4, it was put into production shortly thereafter, and I found out last week it made it onto a boat. Yesterday I found out the boats name, Aniara, and when I checked it had just left the Panama canal, scheduled to dock November 13th. My MA thinks there's a good chance I'll take delivery in November - it looked initially like mid-late December.

Huge thank you to the OP for all of the information. This thread is a wealth of knowledge.

Any way to find out all this information on one you purchased off the lot? Sure would be cool to know production dates, delivery dates, ship name, etc even though you didn't custom order.

Great thread but the first post could use some updates. The Countryman is built in Austria and then travels to Bremerhaven, Germany to be loaded onto a ship. There is also a VDC in Baltimore that handles mid-western dealers.

My total time from order to dealer delivery was just under 8 weeks. My CMS came through the Baltimore VDC and was delivered from a dealership in Chicago.

Answering my own question here. If you already have a vehicle and want the history on it the dealer can help. I went by and they pulled up everything I could every want.

For example, exact date and time construction started, date finished, date shipped to docks, date put on ship, name of ship, shipping number, bill of lading number, date of arrival in port, destination port name, date of delivery to dealer, etc etc etc.

Lots of great information. Hope this helps!
