Thks for reply, looks like they built yours pretty quick or are they all like that?Is this your first Mini?I thought of the green too but decided on Blue, good luck when you get yours, drive fast take chances, CJ
My dealer happened to have a justa clubman slotted for production. They reconfigured it for me. All depends on demand and dealer allotment. Of course, it takes a month to get a car to a west coast dealer. There are some really helpful people on this forum. There is a lot to read while you wait for your car.
Welcome!
Went to school for a few years out in Ithaca, great places to drive a MINI in the Fingerlakes!
Our MINI is week 27 production which is slated. Find out if you have a production # from your dealer and give 1.866.275.6464 a call to get your production week, then jump in on a support group!

Oh man, you are so lucky. Watkins Glen is one of my favorite tracks, and driving in the general area is great (although I would rather drive the local roads in my Mini than in the F350 hauling the track car).
Have fun with your new car! That's a great color you chose.

Welcome! There is a pretty active MINI club, called TierMINI.
http://www.tiermini.com
They're based out of the Binghampton area, but there are many of us all over Central New York, encroaching on Western New York, who belong. I'm from the Syracuse area.
We also join the WNY MINI club for get-togethers occasionally. For instance, we all gather at Watkins Glen on Opening Day, to do paced laps together, and one or two other times throughout the summer months as well...
There's also a nice European car show in Cazenovia on Father's Day. See this thread for details: https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...hlight=Eurocar
Many of us are going to attend MINI's On Top. This is where up to 250 MINI's and their owners go and climb Mt. Washington in New Hampshire, at the end of this month. You'll find details on TierMINI's web site, should you be interested...
See you around NAM, and hopefully otherwise...

Congrats on your new MINI (OK, soon to be MINI)!
I've been contemplating one myself from far-WNY. Curious about who you used for a dealer and how your experience was. Any info would be appreciated! Thanks.

tedswoods,
you're in western NY? Then the only dealership you can consider is Towne MINI, on Main street in Clarence, just off Transit Rd.
The next closest dealerships are in Cleveland (Classic MINI), Albany (Keeler MINI), and Paramus, New Jersey, (Prestige MINI).

Weedsport, eh? I live in Camillus, and work in Skaneateles.
Glad you're taking a chance on a MINI, even though we're in the middle of the state. My car has been very, very reliable, (knocks on wood).
Maybe we'll see each other driving around. Keep waving to us other MINI owners...

Thanks! Realistically, I'm probably looking at Buffalo as i'm just south of there. Glad your experience is good so far--hope it stays that way! Happy Motoring (when that day finally comes)!
I went to Keeler in Albany and they were pretty help full and great. Went there to check out the different colors its better to see it real than on a pc or pics.I live in Weedsport so its 149 to albany and 145 to buffalo .So i flipped a coin .Im excited .Im getting aMini. Certainly Towne would make the most sense. I'm digging a bit to see what kinds of experiences others have had dealing with them--both sales and service. Thanks.
Well, I've only been to Towne, so I have no basis for comparison to other MINI dealerships.
From my few visits there, the sales staff is pretty good, but for a service call or oil change or something, I kinda felt like a second-class citizen to the BMW owners. Maybe it was imagined, but maybe not. I got the impression that me being there was somewhat of an annoyance.
It left a bit of a sour taste in my mouth. I wished the MINI dealership was in fact, its' own dealership; not sharing the lot with the BMW dealership.
Luckily, my MINI has been so problem-free, (knocking on wood), that I haven't had to be there for service except for that one time.

Thanks for the feedback. I'm south of Buffalo by about 1.5 hours so Towne is the only dealer that makes sense for me service-wise. Personally, i like to deal with the same folks for sales and service, though i realize it's not required. I was over in Erie today and for a moment, considered heading to Pittsburgh, but it wasn't in the cards for today. Don't want to hijack this thread, so i'll leave it at that.
I've heard good things about Classic MINI in Cleveland. I know that is farther for you than Buffalo would be, but I've ordered parts from their parts counter, and they've been extremely helpful and pleasant on the phone. Plus, as an added bonus, if you say you're a NAM member, you get a sizeable discount off any parts purchased there!
You might want to check them out, tedswoods.

First off, welcome Dumpnrun! I too am a new Mini owner, picked up my Clubman S at Towne June 2! I was very fortunate because I had built my car on the website, travelled 2 hrs. to Buffalo and couldn't believe my eyes - they had one almost exactly like my build, sitting in the showroom! Color was sparling silver Vs. dark grey metallic, and the trim color was not my first preference, but all the main options were there. I dealt with both the Sales Mgr. (Dan) and a Sales Assoc. (Ray), and they were nice and treated me fairly.
Service, well, reserving judgement. I was ready to buy the car on Saturday afternoon but couldn't, simply because there was no tech. available to put a NYS inspection sticker on! So, another 4 hr. round-trip on Monday - but I negotiated bonnet stripes out of it. When I did pick up the car, the !@$% speedometer was not working! Thankfully, the digital one was. Thus, another trip to Buffalo last Sat. to determine they had to order a new one. They will pick up and return the car when the speedo comes in, but quite a hassle.
Johnieoh, thanks for the links! I live in Corning, NY and look forward to cruising the fingerlakes. The WG cruise sounds cool!
