Central New York: Eurocar show 2008
Central New York: Eurocar show 2008
Attention Western, Central and Eastern New York MINI/Mini owners:
please join me in representing MINI in this annual all-European car show on the beautiful front lawn of the Lorenzo Estate in Cazenovia, NY. Let's get as many MINI's and Classic Mini's there as possible, IN THE SHOW! The show is on Sunday, June 15th 2008, (Father's day). It is put on each year by the Central New York MG club.
Tell all your MINI-driving friends and neighbors, too! Tell the MA's at Keeler and Towne MINI, (should you visit either of these dealerhsips in the next few months), about this event. Spread the word, and get to the show.
The show is a judged, yet very easy-going, family-friendly and casual car show, in a wonderfully scenic setting. It always has lots of really great vintage, classic and contemporary European cars to look at. Cars range from classic Jaguars and MG's, to Ferrari, Porsche and Lamborghini supercars, and everything in between. There are some real concours-worthy, rare gems in this show each years, so it's worth attending, and it's a really great way to spend Father's day! The fee for showing your car is just $7.00.
If you cannot be in the show this year, perhaps you can at least stop by for a visit. The show has free admission for spectators. Bring the entire family!
Here's the link to the Central NY MG club, where you can download the sign-up sheet: http://www.mgcarclub.com/cny/
PM me back if you can go, or if you have ANY questions whatsoever!

We went for the first time last year and really enjoyed ourselves. We were impressed with the cars that were in the show. Nice turn out of classic MINIs. Plus, what a great setting to hold a car show. Motored up with members of the Binghamton British Car Club. Hope to attend this year. I'll ask Tom to post something on tiermini.com

Great Event
We have been twice, our first trip was when we meet jonnieoh... he made me promise that the I would enter the checkmate the following year. TIERMINI took first and third in class 36 in 2007.
Sorry jonnieoh...

Yeah, you guys with your special edition MINI's, (your Checkmate, and Steve's GP). I cannot compete with you, in my run-of-the mill Cooper S.
And the fact that mine is looking less and less stock each year probably won't get me any votes, either!
Oh well, it's fun just to be in the show.

Jpavlo currently has the title of "most mods" in our neck of the woods. Can't wait for a ride after the last set of changes!

Fun event, looking forward to it. Even though I don't plan on officially showing my car I'll probably pay the $7 entry fee so I can park with you guys. Maybe I can dazzle the judges with the BBK and they won't notice the rest of the car. I still haven't had the PDR guy take the dings out of the passenger side.
The BBK does make a difference on the track but a bit of overkill for the street.

Joe, I'm glad you'll be in there with us. Yes, you don't HAVE to have your car judged; it can just be "in the show", for the rest of us car nuts to look at and drool over. I'm sure I'll take a few more shots of your BBK, even though I've photographed it on two separate occasions already!
Keep spreading the word! I'd love to have as many MINI's in the show as possible. The show is only a week and a half away!

The show officially opens at 9:00 AM.
That is when I will arrive, because I'll need all the time I can get to finish detailing my car. The judging starts at 12:30, and awards are presented at 3:00 PM.
After the awards ceremony ends, usually most people pack up and leave by 4:00 or so...
If history has taught me anything, let me offer this advice: bring sunscreen and plenty of cold beverages, because it gets really hot out in the sun all day long!
There is food and concessions there, should you wish to buy something to eat or drink.
See you at the show.

This sounds like fun! I will be up in Rochester visiting and unfortunately won't be bringing my own MINI all the way from Florida, but my dad has been nice enough to offer up his '07 MCS for me to drive! I look forward to meeting some of the CNY MINI crowd!
Good advice Jon. Brew & I will bring our pop up shelters and will gladly share the shade. Sent in my application so I can hang out with the really sharp looking MINIs. I'm going try to get some detailing done before then. Engine compartment & interior need some TLC. Looks like Steve w/be there w/his GP. Looking forward to meeting you Lisa.
Hey everyone, it was really great to have so many MINI's in the show this year. I was really excited to get our own judging class this year, thanks to all of you who showed up.
Let's get even more next year. Hopefully we'll have a clubman or two join us, as well!
Also, we need some more classic Mini's to join us again.
But boy, what a great day. I hit a massive thunderstorm on my way home. Well, there goes all my hard work detailing my car!!!
Doesn't it figure?
Hope you all had a happy Father's day. I know I did. It was nice meeting all you new faces, too.
See you next year!

That was a great way to spend Father's day. It was good to see some old friends and meet some new people as well. Nice turnout! The judges said it was a tough class to judge because of all the good looking MINIs. Congratulations to the winners, Steve, Les & Tom.
Tom & I didn't hit any storms on the way home. But we took an alternate route by following the directions of the GPS. This took us on a "massively" bad road, which I'm sure hadn't seen a maintenance crew in some time. I believe at one time it was 2 lanes but the shoulders were so bad that it was down to about 1-1 1/2 lanes. This was not the road to be on in a lowered car with stiffer suspension. Does anybody have a kidney they would like to donate? Cars got pretty dirty, but what the heck.....it was an adventure! (Tom: Cathy actually fell asleep on that road!!!)
