One more day down folks! I'm either picking it up Tuesday (if wife can convince boss to let her off) or Wednesday. This is assuming it shows up on a truck that is....

 

Hoping Siva can be located tomorrow. Gonna call John first thing and ask that he do everything he can to get a handle on the situation.

 

Mine has been off-loaded in Charleston. Hoping to pick it up sometime next week. I'm hopeful that jury duty won't mess this up for me!

Any word on that missing Mini?

 

No word. Neither the Manager or the MA have answered calls, and I left a message with my MA to call me.

It's doubtful it'd be at the dealer because as of Saturday the reports they were getting still showed my MINI as not even reaching the VDC yet. OL still shows "En Route", no delivery date.

My MA and the Manager have both stated that it's "odd", and that according to their information it never made it to the VDC. So I'm trying to get one of them to at least talk to me so I can ask them to at least LOCATE the MINI today. It's one thing to tell me that it's delayed because of minor damage being repaired at the VDC. It's another to tell me they don't know where it is.

In the end I know it's probably just a waiting game, but I'm definitely not happy about the lack of information.

 

Siva apparently got mixed in with the wrong boat , and so he sat at the port in Charleston for the past week. Per John, he should be heading to the VPC today.

Delivery estimate from John:

Optimistically: Friday.
Probably: Saturday.

We'll see what happens, but I have a feeling this is going to trash my plans to visit family this weekend. I might try to push for John to do what he can to get me a Friday delivery, depending on what happens at the VPC now...

I've booked a one-way on Southwest Airlines tomorrow to pick it up in the morning. Departing 8:40, landing 9:35am

I'm going to see if the dealership will fetch me from the airport, if not I'll need to get some cash for a cab.

 

Congratulations! They should be able to send a service car for you. It looks like I have might have to wait until Wednesday - trying to get ahold of John now. We're going to drive down from STL, I wish I would've arranged to fly in instead!

I actually found a cheap flight today for tomorrow morning. Southwest Airlines... booked it this morning.

 

An email and two telephone calls (only could leave voicemail) later -- still no reply from my MA, John.
The last I've heard from him was Saturday and that it was on a truck.

UPDATE: Seems we've missed each other - he's c-r-a-z-y busy since the shipment came in. I should have known!
I'm all set for Wednesday... a little 5 hour drive down and fun 5 hour return.... seems all worth it now.

I'm on a truck. My MA wasn't in front of his computer, but he remembered seeing it this morning. At least I know it has left the VDC.

No idea on a delivery date, though

 

I kinda wish my wife was going to be with me to share the moment tomorrow... but this is easier on her. I hate flying.... I'm hoping for a smooth flight up there, and an awesome drive back.

 

I know what you mean - I'm lucky my husband is coming along. Just think how great the drive home will be! And your wife will be thinking about you and your Chili Red Mini all day.
It should be good traveling weather too! I checked national weather for travel for Tuesday and Wednesday - it all looks good! You've lucked out all 'round.
