Having trouble posting, so thought maybe I have to post in here before any of the other forums.
I should pick up my wife's chili red MCS next month. It is for her birthday and will be decked out with union Jack on top and on rear view mirror and side "S" flash (she is British). Looking forward to it!

Don't worry- I really haven't got the hang of posting yet either! -need to figure out the signature thing and get a photo up of our 08' MCS Chili red/ white roof and blk racing stripes soon. we just got ours last tuesday! We can't keep our eyes of it!-and thinking up every excuse in the book to go to the store!--My mom was from Wales-so i was thinking of the welsh dragon on the roof-but the locals here might not "get it"-and would probably think i'm into dungeuons & dragons!!!!!

I wish it was a surprise...it actually started out like that, but it got really complicated. Do you know how hard it is to hide a $22K loan from a person who works at a bank???
There are only two local banks (American) to get a loan through, and she is the loan officer at one of them, so I had to go through the competition to get the loan approval so the dealer would hold my build slot. I even had a friend spot me $1K for the order downpayment so there wasn't any money coming out of our accounts!
Of course, the "other bank" sends me mail and she is the one who picks up the mail that day. Cue the tapdance.
Finally convinced her that nothing was going on and things started going south with my eldest son's college plans, so we had to have the money talks (tuition etc...) and I had to disclose the Mini on order.
I was bummed that it won't be a surprise, but she is very excited about it. The car she drives right now is beat up pretty bad. It is a Volvo S70, which is a big car. She's a small girl and she is spacially challenged (i.e. she runs into things). She needs a smaller car that she can see both ends of!

 

I'm sort of bummed with you, but still it's wonderful that you would do something like that for her. I bet she is very excited! I know I was so excited when we planned to drive out to the dealership to pick up my MINI, I couldn't sleep the night before. And yeah... in this case, I think you probably can expect more than kisses.. *chuckle*

My husband bought my MINI yesterday and believe me, he's getting more than kisses in return!
