Gold Luck in PA

Hello all,
I'm from PA with an 04' Mini with 41,000. I try to keep in good condition despite having a toddler. This site has been really useful for me and my husband. Recently, we've been experiencing problems that have left me a little jaded. My battery won't hold a charge and since reading some of threads I'm concerned that it may be the steering.

Thanks for the postings, this site is a HUGE help!

Electrical issues.

Might be time for a new and fresh battery.

Welcome fellow PA peeps! Sorry to hear about your electrical situation. Do you know someone who can do a load test on your batt?

Glad to find and be found too!

Shout out replay to all PA people! Do I dare say, "MINI in house!" LOL!

My husband purchased a fresh battery today from the dealership in Bala. Can't find any auto shops in our area that will carry the battery or go near it. He installed it with a few choice words (didn't realize the bolt sizes would require a foreign tool, good thing he has a VW toolkit). Car started right up, we won't know if something is draining the battery until tomorrow morning.

Like he said, they put that battery in there so the average person can't take it out. I hope that new battery helps until we can get it serviced next week. I wish there were more MINI dealerships close by...

The things we do for the love of a MINI.

Main Line is my dealer as well, but wouldn't Otto's be slightly closer for you to get to? Hope your battery problem is solved!

Yes and that's the one we go to; however the drive, especially in an car emergency moment is a little over the top sometimes.

The battery drain was caused by the Power Steering Pump failure. The dealership doesn't understand how the car was able to function because it was so badly damaged. THANK GOD the parts were still under warranty.

Now I have an extra battery, that wasn't damaged just drained and is still functional. Think I'm going to sell it on ebay with pickup option only.

Glad you found out the problem, especially because it was covered. That could have been a major disaster. Otto's is our dealer also and have been good to us so far.

No I like going there when I can, but lately it seems when I go they don't have a lot of mechanics on hand. Hope that isn't a sign of things to come. One thing I do miss at Otto's is when the the MINI service side was on the side where the BMW's are now. I liked pulling having the pull up valet service...
