My question is I need feedback on the maintenance upgrade for $1795.00 ( mini of peabody ma)that takes you to 6 years or 100,000 miles.Is it worth it? Anyway, I ordered a all dark silver S 6-speed with the sports package and chrome mirrors and I am really excited . thanks to all that helped , this site is great......DAN FAUST

 

If the new maintenance program is anything like the previous version (extend one year for either $399 or $499 depending on your willingness to negotiate), then you can add it anytime before the service warranty expires (3 years or 36k miles). That being said, when I picked up my '07, I declined the extended service. Assuming I end up keeping the car for longer than that period, I will seriously consider purchasing the extended coverage. The feeling I have is that between day one and three years is a long time for MINI to hold onto your $1800. Plus, a lot can happen during that time that would render the coverage obsolete--i.e. MINI is totaled, you sell it, it's stolen, etc.
