"The VDC was up and running even though it was Saturday. Our tour guide, Eric, stated that they normally worked 7AM to 4PM M-F, but worked Saturdays when there was high demand for "Priority One" vehicles (Priority One is a car that is already sold)."

This was taken from the sticky thread about the west coast vdc... That said, the unloading and loading seems to be a 24/7 operation.

Yup....

My MINI has just stumbled off the boat as well.

Congrats to everyone for showing such patience while we calmly waited for our MINI's to arrive.
I'm happy to say we handled things well .

Now, I wonder if there's much chance it can be processed and shipped by
next Saturday <g> to Cincinnati?

Any one know how long it take the dealer to turn around a car once it gets delivered? From what i have been able to piece together it should take any where from 5 to 10 days to get out of the vdc, then onto the dealer.

Any ideas??

Wish I'd known it was on...

and Congrats Silverfinn !! Didn't know you ordered the JCW <g>.

Remember , driving your MINI isn't like shooting a round of golf.
Your goal shouldn't be to drive your "age" , every day <g>.

(Although once in a while's ok , if you don't get caught <g>.)

Ditto on the Italian Job feeling - (queue the theme to Twilight Zone).
Mine's off the boat too!! (Thanx for the brain jab, Joe). I tried to google the VDC but no luck... I think I recall someone saying that once it enters the VDC it's like the bermuda triangle until it mysteriously shows up on a transport truck 1-10 days later...
Still hoping my MA was pulling my leg about them not getting anything from VDC in over 2 weeks even though they have several there to be processed.
My MA told me it takes 1-2 days after delivery for the dealer to prep it, depending on how much locally added bling, like window tint, clear bra, special wheels etc. Anything on page 5 of the configurator is added at the dealers, then they add the $175/hr installation fee.

Maybe hourly calls to your MA...

Will motivate him or her to get some activity out of the
processing center <g>.

I'm being optimistic. One of us is going to manage to have
his vehicle within the week. Gut feeling.

Or hopefully more than one of us.

(If there are lurkers in the background that have just made
landfall too, feel free to chime in. We don't bite. Much. <g>.)

Here's the info I received from my MA today.

I am not sure how long it will take for us to get your MINI here at the dealership. Last month, I had several that were in Charleston for close to two weeks. But we did receive an email letting us know that the Processing Center can only handle 650 cars a day and this unusual delay was caused by the arrival of around 6000 cars at the same time. Last month was the first time that has happened since I've been working here (2 years).

I asked my MA to put a call into the VDC to see if things should be on time. I haven't heard back from her yet. I'll keep you posted.

Let us know if you find out anything.

Who'll be first?

Our babies have had their first full work-day since docking and SHOULD be at the VPC by now...
Any bets on who gets their delivery first? Or has someone already gotten the fateful call from their dealer?
