Time to production date

How long before your actual production date was the date assigned? I'm week 14 and wondering when I might need to actually start looking for one.

I ordered my MCS on 2-18-08, it went into production on 2-27-08, was finished on 3-3-08 and was put on the TORONTO on 3-4-08. My MINI was considered a Week 10 production week.
I would guess that a Clubman may take a little bit longer due to the popularity of them, but I could be wrong.

Expect yours to start on March 30, but call 1-866-ASK-MINI and talk to a real person over there to see if they have any thing more definite.

Mine took about a week to go from order to beginning of build. Took 2 weeks from start of build to actually getting on a boat, 3 weeks to California via Panama Canal, 1 week from arrival in California VDC to delivery at my dealer.

Expect 2 months from your actual ordering date to the time that you pick it up at your dealer. Mine was ordered Jan 17th and Delivered March 9th.

I talked to Rebecca at ASKMINI and the only info she had right now was week 14 production.

Just keep calling every day until they can confirm your production date. Quit your job if you have to. I'm about to do that because it's interfering with my lusting after my new Clubman.

It must vary, too. I ordered 2/22. Still no production date, and shows "on order." at miniusa. As of Monday, Ask MINI had no production date set, but my dealer thinks my baby is starting production sometime this week.

I'm getting the impression the date is not set very far out.

How do you determine production weeks? I ordered my Clubman 3/6 and was told today (3/12) that the car was in production as of this morning.

It's a mystery

I've seen people who've ordered on the same day yet their production start dates varied by up to 3 weeks. I ordered my clubman on 2/19 and it started production on 3/4, to be finished today or tomorrow. Others who ordered on 2/19 finished production on 3/1 . I think it may have something to do with color/type (s/non-s), dealer allocation etc...

ASK MINI sometimes only knows when things actually start to happen. They didn't know my car was in production until it was actually in production.

Timeline, so far, is below.

If you're a week 12, then yours should start on Sunday/Monday.

You would bee week 11 then. The production week starts on Sunday. Week 1 began on Sunday, December 30. Just count the weeks on a calendar from there.

Yes, dealer allocation is the main key. The dealers have a list of body/types that are going to be built for them. So, if you order a Clubman S, the dealer goes down the list to find the next available Clubman S that's being built for him/her. He/she assigns it to you and tells you what week your car will be built in.

what tim781996 said! It really depends on your dealer more than anything else. I order MCS on 3/1 and it went in to production on 3/4 and was finished on 3/11. I guess my dealer had a spot for a MCS and I was just in right time and place kind of a thing...
