New to NAM and new to Mini

Hello,
This is a completely new experience for me. I have never owned a car with such a loyal following.

I was looking for a commute vehicle that would get at least 30 MPG and be fun to drive at the same time. Did not realize how tough that would be.

Then my neighbor let me drive his 2005 MC - I was completely impressed. Talked to a friend at work and he let me drive his 2004 MCS, 6 speed stick - I was blown away that you could have that much fun and get 35-40 MPG at the same time.

I went right out to MINIUSA and built my first, second, third, ... mini's. I could not believe the choices. I placed my order on 1/15/2008 for a 2008 MCS, BRG, black top/mirrors, Cold Weather Package, Convenience Package, Premium Package, Sport Package, and 6 speed auto w/Agitronic Mode.

After reading previous posts on how to track my new mini, I learned its south of Cuba headed for the Panama canal this evening - due to hit US on 3/2/2008.

After driving Mustangs, and my Ford F350, I can not believe I am this excited about my new MCS.

Gotta go for now - Please forgive my ignorance on the MC lingo – I will work on that.

Welcome aboard! This is most fun obsession you will probably ever have! Lots of people who will make YOU seem normal, even when those you love dearly think you've gone off the deep end! Your new family/cult/what-have-you is here on NAM. . . let the fun begin!!!

PS- when I tracked my MINI this summer, I was glued to the computer for 6 solid hours.

Since I have learned all the links to track my new Mini and also found a thread of other mini owners that are on the same ship - Ive been on NAM about 4 hours tonight alone.

My wife compares it to a kid on Christmas Eve tracking Santa on the internet.

Picked up my new BRG MCS on Saturday and have racked up about 420 miles of quality time.

So far everything is perfect.
