So, it's six weeks and counting for me.... The plan is that when spring finally breaks in Ohio, when the salt disappears from our roads, I should have a new MINI to enjoy... Until then I'll spend the last few weeks with my '03 Boxster... It's a great car and I considered a new one... But a new MINI at half the price and twice the fun... was just too tempting to pass up!

Anyway, I'll be hanging out here with you good folks to see what I can learn in preparation for delivery day which I hope is sometime toward the end of March.
Warmest Regards,
>SDM

Thank you.....

I have my production Number and have Registered in the Owners Lounge a benifit already from this list... I had no idea one could track one's MINI through the build and ship process.... very, very cool!! My Dealer tells me that my build date is 2/19 but as expected at this point my Number still shows a Black MINI... it will be interesting to see how long it takes foe my actual MINI to get into the system.
Again, Thank you,
>SDM

You know it's funny..

you brought this up... Saturday I got up and felt energetic enough to go on-line and do and file my taxes via Turbo-Tax-Online. I was done by noon... By 1:00pm I was at the Columbus MINI dealer... by 2:00pm I was ready to buy... by 2:30pm I was writing a deposit check and discussing my down payment etc. which is all covered by the return I filed earlier in the day... I just love when a plan comes together!!

Best of luck with your return... and of course, your MINI!

Yesterday...

when I left the house... it was cold and damp... my back hurt and my Porsche doesn't have heated seats... it suddenly occured to me that I had kind-of blown off the Cold Weather Package even though I really liked the turn-in mirrors... I just kept thinking how nice that heat would feel on my poor old sore back... So, when I thought my MINI Salesman had arrived at work I called and asked if my Order had been placed [it was Sat. when I started this deal]... he said no... I said good... please add the Cold Weather Package before you place it today... he laughed and asked if the cold morning had got to me... I said yep, about $500 worth!!

Thank you Donna!
Yep, I'm a happy guy... it's moving through the system and like I said in another thread it's at the second step "Scheduled for Production" my Dealer tells me its to be built on the 19th... I'm a proud papa!

Also Congrats on your new Clubman... with it coming out we were kind of in a quandary... we had fallen in love with the new 07+ bigger hardtop and considered the Clubman but since we don't really need the exta room we opted to stay on plan and buy the hardtop... However the Clubman is one sweet ride and based on the activity around Midwestern MINI... a lot of it from the pending Clubman release... you got yourself a new car coming that's very much in demand... should be very good for resale value et cetera!!

Hello Terry, welcome to NAM. If you are interested in meeting up with some other Columbus owners, we will be at Midwestern MINI on Saturday to check out the new Clubman. You can also keep up with whats happening in the area here: https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...splay.php?f=46

Sure Brian,
I was wondering if there was a Columbus/Central Ohio Owners Club... I saw that Cincinnati had a couple groups.... so yes I would absolutely like to meet some local MINI fans... BUT you'll have to put up with me in my Porsche... or maybe my Electric Car which is actually smaller than a MINI see: http://www.MyersMotors.com like I said in my previous post I'm MiniLess at the moment but I have excellent intentions!!

So what time will you all be there? Do you have a Club website?

BTW... I was at MAG for quite awhile last Saturday... and the place was zooming particularly for a cold and nasty Saturday afternoon... you would a thought they were giving Clubman [Clubmen?, Clubmans?] away. While I was in the process of test driving an S, ordering and buying mine... a couple sets of folks were picking up cars.... others were also ordering... several people were test driving and a ton of people were drooling over the 4 or 5 Clubman on the back lot.

Some people are meeting up at the Bob Evans across the street from MAG around 8:00 and then heading over to MAG at 9:00 (sounds like they will have donuts and coffee). I'm planning on going to MAG first and then maybe go to Bob Evans afterwards. A couple of people may head over to Outmotoring in New Albany after leaving MAG.
