Your ship is in Port Hueneme. I can't say exactly when because of the 1 to 1.25 hour delay in tracking. Most likely about 2200z on 1/5.

My MINI tracking on the Owner's lounge says still in transit but I assume we're at the VDC now, right? Anyone have any idea when the cars will be leaving the VDC?

Not When they will be leaving, but i called my MA yesterday and she said my mini should be at the dealership (Long Beach Mini) by the 15th.

Took delivery today......

After tracking my cars on the Tasco for the last month, I finally took delivery today. After reading tons of messages on this forum.... a few things that were a question in my mind have been answered:

1) The front scoop is open and functional.

2) The front windows have the auto-up function.

3) The side mirrors (cold weather package) do auto rotate against the side windows.

See my gallery for a picture of my 2008 MCS from today's delivery......

It seems like I will be the last person on the thread waiting for their car! I'm up in the Portland area so it's going to be a little longer for Sir Max to be trucked up here. I think I have one more week- can I make it??

Meanwhile, Hoopty, can I live vicariously through you? I'm waiting for an '08 MCS SS/B Convenience, Cold Weather, Premium, and Sport Package- our cars are like fraternal twins.

Morris did your MA tell you the 18th? Thats when our MA told us they might get the car. We are on the madame butterfly, 2 days behind the Tasco. Rassmussen.

Morris08......That is very cool. I guess there really are other people out there with the good taste I have (kidding).

The past 24 hrs has been so awesome.....I've put on 250 miles and the Mini and it has been better than expected. A few observations....The Sport Package (with the optional sway bars included) feels just right for me. But I had Eibachs and Konis on my E420 and Eibachs and Bilsteins on my Porsche 928, so I am used to this sort of ride. But I can also see that it would not be for everybody. 'As rumored' the run-flats are a very harsh riding tire, so I'm looking forward to burning these down and replacing them with some Goodyear F1's or something. It handles very flat and balance. The exhaust is throaty and deep, so I will need to cautious about what cat-back system I choose (probably Alta). There is more rear seat room than I expected. I can adjust the passenger seat to comfortable position for me (6'-0") and can get into the seat behind it with not problem. The heated seats have lots of reserve capacity, great for my bad back. The paddle shifters are very cool, I will need to wait till it is fully broke in to really master this feature. It is easy to get it over 4500 revs.

Do you have an auto or manual trans? What wheels did you order? Good luck with her when she arrives.......

I would say that you have most excellent taste!

I will have a manual transmission- that's the only drive, er... I mean motor, for me at this point in my life. The wheels are 17" alloy, crown spoke.

I actually didn't order this car. I knew I wouldn't be able to wait to build one and they just so happened to have one coming on the boat that fit everything I was looking for. It was a no-brainer to put the $1000 down to reserve my dream car.

I am soooooo antsy. My current daily driver, a 97 Jetta, has sprung a leak and the floor mats are all soaked. Every time I shift, when I put my foot back down it splashes. The clutch is about to go out, too. I'll be lucky if this car doesn't fall apart before Max arrives.

My MA (yes, at Rasmussen) gave me a date of 1/21. I'll be just like those old Mervyn's commercials- tapping on the door "Open. Open. Open. Open." at 4:30 in the morning.

Congrats on Getting your car today.
My Dealer is about 45 miles away from port hueneme and they still don't know when It will arrive on their lot. I'm starting too get worried, I didnt order anything that had to be assembled at the VDC or dealer. The first estimate by them was saturday, after that came and went, i was a little dissapointed. Now they just tell me they are going to call when it arrives. I'm getting sick of waiting.
All i can think about is what happened to my car that is taking so long? Are they backed up? Is there a huge dent in one of the panels that they need to fix? I'm going crazy with this wait.

EDIT: The worst part is My new wheels, tires, and springs are just sitting at my mechanics place waiting to be installed.

BTW, congrats poolemac! let us know how it goes

edit: saw your earlier post aldoushett. Shoulda read before i posted.

Actually I went through Autoland (University Credit Union) and they did all the work with the dealer. I am guessing it was through Bob Smith BMW because it's the closest to me and to the Autoland office. I hope mine arrives at the dealer soon. Kinda frustrated because my guy at Autoland doesn't really follow up on anything or update me about things .
And congrats by the way!

Wow you must live close to me!!! I ordered from long beach mini, but i live in northridge. I only went to Long Beach because of their reputation. University Credit union? Do you work for or go to a university? CSUN? I'm a part time student there.

oh haha that is close! I'm in Canoga Park/Winnetka. I actually go to UCLA, which is a partner of UCU. (actually the other way around) But my pops is the one with the membership. I did go to Long Beach Mini also, but decided to just go through UCU.

The car is awesome, I love it. If you got the bluetooth package, make sure they give you the ipod cable. It integrates the iPod without the need for the 600 ipod integrator.

Any news on when yours comes in?

I won't have the bluetooth package on mines. Thanks though. And no word yet on my car . I was actually on Madame Butterfly. And the reason i was curious about your status was because you were in the area and our ships are only a few days apart. Hopefully tomorrow or thursday. If not, I won't be around to pick it up until tuesday or wed! Those extra days of waiting might kill me
