3 more months and counting...

Hey guys --
This my first post. I ordered my MINI on 9/15/07 from a Bay Area dealer -- they said I was one of the last '07 buyers and it'd take 4 months! So I just passed my 30 day mark, made all my final changes, and it should be about 3 months from now.

My mini:
Dark silver, black roof
No stripes
Nav system
Fluid silver interior
Xenon headlights
Black leatherette seats
16" bridge spoke rims
Chrome line
Alarm system

Can't wait!! Crossing my fingers that I'll get an unexpected phone call one day from the dealer saying that it arrived 3 months early

I'll take a guess and assume you ordered from Mountain View Mini, if you want to cut the wait time you may want to call East Bay Mini and change dealerships.

+1. Some guy (I won't name names) ordered TWO in less time than that! Most people on the west coast get theirs in under two months. Good luck, it'll be worth the wait no matter how long it takes!

My guy actually told me that any place other than Mountain View would charge $3k on top -- anyway, I went to the dealer twice and the first time, I encountered a real jerk then when I came back, I dealt with another guy and he was totally awesome. Very nice and patient....and answers my emails/phone calls within the day.

Anyway, I just called Ask Mini and it's going into production any day now and it should be all mine it about 1-1.5 months! Not too shabby and it allows me more time to save $$$$

Very cool! Sounds like you are very happy with the way things are turning out.

BTW, I'm a little jealous of your spec, especially the nav and the DS. But only a little - I LOVE MY
NEW MINI!!!

Ordered my "First Mini" on Aug 31 - that Mini arrived at EB - Pleasanton, Ca on Sunday Oct 14. For the rest of the story, I changed my mind and Re-ordered my Second Mini on Oct 3rd - that Mini was finished and loaded on the TORTUGAS (10/15) and will be in CA on 11/5 and in my hands around 11/12 - Total time for Both orders and a car in my hands = 2.5 Months - That is Service and I am very happy... Your Mini sounds very nice - don't understand why it is taking so long???

BTW - I have talked two Mt View buyers into coming over to EB = both were told they would have to order an 08 and it would not be here until Feb 08 = both saved $$$$$$$$$$ and Time = both of these took place in the last 10 days...

They most certainly lied to you. I ordered my MINI on 9/24, it was completed on 10/6. Now its on a ship a few days out of New York, I will have it 5 weeks from when I ordered it and I paid a little under MSRP as well.

However, I am in Minnesota not California. A flight out here to pick up your car would run about $94 on United from San Francisco, our MINI dealership is about 3 miles from the MSP airport. Of course that would be a 2000 mile trip home

Thanks for everyone's support -- the wait isn't so bad b/c like I said, it's allowing me more time to save up money!! I know someone who ordered from the Mountain View dealer before me also and I heard about the (minimum) 3 month wait, so I already prepared myself for something along those lines. =)

Waiting is fine as long as your Ok with it - the bad part is They Lied to you - that is NOT right... you could have driven just 45 min and not only saved $$$ but also gotten the Mini much faster - they Knew this - therefore lied to keep your business - Just as long as You know the type of people you are dealing with - You are getting a great Mini...
