Brecht experience - picking up the R56

Anybody that bought their MINIs from Brecht in Escondido I want to hear your experiences. Especially with picking up the car. I haven't done that quite yet but I can share my MA short story.

I basically wanted to go through the internet Adviser...which was Iyshia. She was perfectly fine until I tried getting a hold of her after ordering. I email her and 4 days later she replies with an email that doesn't address my concerns. Then when trying to take off the permaplate and lojack and dealing with pricing for accessories....she was trying to overcharge me by $1000 and she didn't explain it. It was absolutely horrible dealing with her. I complained to Jim and from then on the experience has been great. He is definitely a great manager and I recommend Brecht because of him. He has been good to us and our experience is finally getting back to "normal."

I will be picking up the beast late October (On the Manon arriving in Oxnard, CA on Oct 16th) and I wanted to see if there is anything I need to make sure to do when I pick it up, especially from Brecht.

And yes I can't wait

I have not picked up my car yet (because it's still in England - past the factory, waiting for the ship). I worked with Amanda Perez and can recommend her. Amanda's first quote had the clear coat and lojack but I was able to get her to remove them without much fuss. Amanda does e-mail and seems responsive. She's our MA at Brecht...

I up north but I will add - If I am spending well over 20K on something I want a LIVE person on the phone (at least) Email is ok in the start - nothing beats live - I have heard od dealers doing the "auto" add ons - BS.....

And "getting them to remove them with out much fuss???" How about take it off! = answer = sorry, yes I will and again, sorry... Nothing less....

Jim at Brecht seems to be a straight shooter. He resolved a couple of "issues" that I had with my "MA" regarding"pricing".

I just ordered my Mini through Iyshia and she was very helpful. Absolutely no problems and very responsive (always replied to emails and calls immediately).

I have yet to find what I consider to be a competent Mini sales person at a SoCal dealership. They all appear to have poor to no training about the product and how to interact with customers. Brecht is not alone.

So far, Minis have sold themselves but that won't last forever.

+1. And when that day comes, we will all be better off.

I picked my S up at Brecht on November 30th of last year.....Even though it was pouring down rain Sean (my MA) managed to find a nice dry covered area to park my S for delivery. Sean is a "car guy" as opposed to your stereotypical "car salesman". Sure makes a difference dealing with a knowledgeable individual. Long Story short, my dealing(s) with Brecht and Sean have been positive. The price was "as agreed", no trying to upsell me on "stuff" I wasn't interested in, no bull.

We talked to Sean as well when we were searching for our car. We ended up going with Amanda (who was a newer MA). Sean is very knowledgable, but even so there was no pressure. We got our "out the door" price (with no markup).
