It's a girl!!!

Get out the cigars - we brought home our bouncing baby girl on Monday! No doubt of the gender as she tugged at the wheel while passing Woodburn (outlet mall) on the way home... and all SHE WANTS TO DO IS DANCE!! She talks me into additional twisty side trips on the way in to town every time!
Here are a couple pictures after her first bath. Not clear as to her name yet - but we are working on a few to see what she likes. Almost 1/2 way to break in!!

Wait a sec... Girls don't wear blue do they? Better do one-a-them reconstructive operations. Don't want to confuse the other Minis who might want to get a little more intimate.

She does - forgot to mention - she's a bit of a tom-boy. Blue Jeans and all.

I missed the announcement, but heard from a birdie yesterday that you had picked up your car. I saw Jean at the business fair and she said you were very happy with your new baby.

Looks great. I'll look forward to seeing it in person one day.

Congrats! Mine used to do the same thing when I lived in Oregon but we were usually going to the Outlets for my wife anyways! Happy Motoring!

Thanks all... she sure brightens my daily commute!

Jean would be good! I'm worried though because my sister's middle name is Jean and she would do about anything to lay claim I'm afraid.

Sowellman I was near your work last week, saw your MINI and thought about stopping and making the introductions - but I was running late as usual.

Sell/Trade the sister and keep the Mini/name?

Nice intro for your great MINI. Jean, Billy Jean works. If you let your sister drive off and on, you might get it to stick.

Nice pictures, enjoy the shopping trips.

She is upscale on the interior that is for certain! Looking at the pictures in the gallery. Very nice. It helps me visualize what mine will look like on the interior except for a stick shift. I like the woodgrain dash and shiftknob.

Congratulations!

Thanks,
I have to say I stressed on the interior for the full 3 month of wait time - just ask my husband, MA, and yes SISTER. I didn't see too many examples. I didn't realize the shifter came with the wheel when I ordered - especially on the auto. The wood wheel feels a little different at first but you quickly get used to it and I love it. The leather is definitely going to take more diligence to keep clean but it's very soft and cheery. I think I'm going to add some tinting to the windows and sunroof. Hey MINI's about being different right - or we would have bought the Honda off the lot!

My husband took her dancing today while I had to work (in between NAM post monitoring of course) and now we are 150 miles (or 3 commutes) from unleashing the dragon!! I can hardly wait!

Now to the name and sister question... Sell/trade sister or let her drive it.. hmmm I'll have to think on that one...

Billy Jean...like it... I see whats-his-name dancing (not pretty) - Lady Blue.. got a ring to it - don't know the song. I remember reading that someone finally came up with a name after a year of ownership - so I guess I'm not too far behind. Thanks all for the suggestions.

She's a pretty girlie. Her interior is identical to mine, except I didn't get the wooden stearing wheel and shift ****. I love my interior. I like the leather stearing wheel, but am not fond of the shifting **** - I don't like the grooves on top. I am eyeing one of Robin Cassidy's wooden *****. 'Twould go nice with the English oak, I think.

About her name - "Bonnie Blue"? Her classic lines and good taste just scream 'Gone With the Wind' to me.

Thanks Kimberely and thanks for helping me get over the butterflies before meeting my little girl. I definitely think those Cassidy ***** are nice. Christmas is only 2 months away - time to drop the hints... I'm thankful I got one with the wheel since I couldn't get a stick and aftermarket wood ***** for an auto are not available.
Hmmm Bonnie Blue... that would be a good choice. BTW I love your Kermit name. Perfect fit. If I'd not just come from a Green Jeep GC I would have seriously considered your color choices.

Congrats! She is a beauty! I really like the interior color choice for her. It is a nice contrast to the LiB exterior. I can't wait to meet her in person! Happy Motoring!

Already half way. I have had mine for 6 weeks, and still have less then 800 miles. The break-in time is taking longer than it did to order it.

I've had mine less than a week, and I'm sitting at 530 miles.
