I'm on the Freedom, too! Please keep posting updates, I agree with Cabbagehead-- makes it easier on the rest of us!

Anybody have any idea how long it would take to truck a Mini from Charleston to Chicago?

I called ASK MINI today and they said my Mini was still at port waiting for transportation and my MA said the same thing although he said it is usually has been on the boat for a couple days b4 it shows enroute. Has anyone else experienced this, and if so do you know how long it takes to update? The good thing is that the WW site shows it was loaded on Freedom the 25th so I know it's enroute.

Both the OL and ASK MINI can be slow to update, especially the owners lounge. We took delivery of Skeeter on the 14th and the OL sill shows as at VDC with estimated delivery date of the 15th, I doubt it will ever update at this point.

as of 3 hours ago... Freedom reporting somewhere between 600 and 800 miles from Newfoundland.

Will we be stopping over in Halifax I wonder? Any one for Canada in this thread?

Next stop is NY, no Halifax port stop for Freedom. She is averaging a good speed.

Hi all -

Freedom looks to be about 500 miles from Newfoundland as of an hour ago.

Almost there!

So close...and yet, so very, very far away.

No position updates since this morning's. Thats right, 12 hours without news. By the time Freedom makes port, I'll be hunched over a laptop screen, in my bathrobe, red eyed and pale, mumbling and repeatedly hitting the refresh button on the sailwx page.

oh well, who needs sanity anway? I think it might be overrated.

Mine is on Freedom too... Then off to the VPC where they'll install the driving lights before shipping it to the dealer.

Goooood morning all ~

I'm going to go out on a limb and say that Freedom has stopped reporting to sailwx, just like when she put to sea.

She hasn't shown on AIS yet, but I suspect to see her in the New York approaches in the next few days.

According to the port of NY/NJ Freedom is scheduled to arrive this Sunday, 9/2.

Hopefully we'll be all unloaded and into Newark by the time NAM comes back up from the migration.

Thanks again for the updates.

There are no hurricanes to worry about so I guess the Freedom isn't going to sink in the next few days. We'll probably be driving our cars in a couple of weeks.

Greetings All:

No sign of Freedom on AIS yet, but the Queen Mary II has made port in New York. If you remember, QMII left Southampton just before Freedom did.

Since the site will be down this weekend, most likely our next update will be that Freedom has come and gone and our cars are either at the VPC or on their way to the dealers.

Just FYI for anyone whose car is getting off at the port in South Carolina, it arrives on the 8th of September but doesn't get off the boat until the 9th.... I hate having to wait an extra day...

Not a problem at all.. gives me an excuse to hit the AIS page four times a day. You know, just to see if there's an update for everyone....yeah...thats it. I'm obsessed, someone stop me!

Anyway, AIS is NOT loving life right now... cant get to the east coast page from the start page. Here's hoping it comes back soon...

I don't know speed of Queen Mary II vs Freedom, but as unremarkable noted it left shortly before Freedom. Using last reported position of Freedom....speed and distance (calculating..calculating???)...it seems like it would only be about 10-12 hours from NYC port. Of course, could be wishful thinging or my math/geography is out of whack.

Hi All ~

Well, NAM is back up...which is good

but I'm having AIS issues, which is not so good For some reason I can't navigate the overview maps, which means I cant zoom in on New York.

So, as Grape82 mentioned, we're down to dead reckoning. Grape is pretty good at it... the Port schedule shows freedom arriving NY on 9/2 at 12:30, departing NY same day at 17:00 (5pm)

They report that they kicked my car off the boat too! I've been able to keep calm so far but I'm starting to fidget a little now.

I've been telling myself that "I've waited 5 years, I can wait a few more weeks/days/hours" but, I'm starting to lose it now.... Lets hope everyone's feeling productive at the VPC!

Almost there
