A pleasant surprise.

Hi Everyone,

Just got my new 07 Dark Silver MCS today. I bought it to autocross, so it's a bit of a stripper. I went to the dealership thinking I would have to order the car I wanted. I didn't think they'd have one with LSD and Sport Suspension. As the title says I was pleasantly surprised. It wasn't exactly equipped the way I wanted, but it had the 2 most important options and it was reasonably priced, plus I had sold my car (2005 Mitsubishi Evo) the night before and was totally without a car.
It needs some stripes, though. I was thinking black offset stripes.

One big plus the Mini has over the Evo is that the wife likes it.

As you can see in the interior picture, the first thing I bought was an iPod adapter. This one charges the iPod and plugs into the Aux input. I know you can't control it from the steering wheel, but for 10% of the price of the MINI one, I'll live with that.

P.S. still trying to think up a name for her.

Nothing wrong with a stripper as long as she takes care of you. Anyways, nice looking MCS. I just placed my own order today, and its a bit of a stripper too. It'll be my only car as well once I get rid of my current car when the MCS arrives. It'll also be my daily driver + rallycross car. If I may ask, why'd you get rid of the Evo in favor of the MCS? I've seen others go from MCS to Evo or STI/WRX, but not too many the other way around.

Picked up mine Tuesday, it also has LSD and sport suspension. I got it as an autocross/track car. Only problem is that my wife is loving it. She told me twice today that she doesn't like the idea of me driving it on the track now. I can't win!

Nice car. Congrats!

Bah - Dark Silver is for people that can't emotionally commit to any of the more interesting colours..

(just kidding - it's a beautiful car, and I'm sure you'll love it, even if the wife is already getting "protective" of it.)

Jim, congrats on a great find, I do like the DS MINIs. Enjoy, I was at the rmbmwcca autox today watching the MINIs run. They all looked good, you will enjoy your 'stripper'.

Thanks for all the kind words. I went from the Evo to the MCS because Mitsu is militant about voiding warranties if you autocross those cars. Plus, the wife hated the Evo. She can't drive a stick, so she won't be driving it, but at least she'll ride in the MINI.

I've already ordered the 14" racing stripe in black for bonnet/roof/boot from Mighty stripes.

The autocross wheels will be the orange Koseis (you can see them at Tire Rack's website).

I was thinking of naming her maybe Candy or Bubbles....

Welcome to NAM meadbar!! That's an interesting name. Is there a story behind it?? I used to autocross my Corvette, but was never very good at it.
Now the vette sits as the MINI is more fun to drive and a whole lot easier on fuel. You also have a good eye for color selections. dark Silver rules!!
