New MINI owner

Hello fellow Mini owners. I just purchased my first Mini last week. Its an 03 with the H/K sound system. When I have my sunroof and windows down it is hard to hear the radio even with the volume turned all the way up. Any suggestions on how to "pump up the volume"? Also, I am about ready for some new sneakers for the Mini. Not looking for race performance but looking for some suggestions on a good all around summer tire as I will be getting a seperate set of rims with snow tires on them.
Any suggestions would be a big help.
Thank you
Bill (Vermont)

Not going to help you with "pump up the volume" ideas. Cars waking me in the middle of the night blasting their stereo through open windows are lucky I don't pitch rocks at them.

Greetings. I'll let others chime in but though the HK isn't the loudest I've seen I've never personally had the problems of which you speak. Might do a trouble shoot and see if it working like it's supposed to (eg speakers are all working, amps working). Best I've got for you, maybe try searching for HK and see if this problem is mentioned. You might also put this as it's own thread in the interior/stereo forum.

Hello and welcome! Do you have the owners manual for your car? How about the radio manual? Maybe the previous owner has all the settings down on low? I dont know how much you have played with it, but it may be something as simple as that (I hope). I dont know what you are used to, the stereo is a good one, but as mentioned previously is not going to blow you away with volume. Anyway, just a suggestion. If you still have problems, Im sure someone who knows a lot more than I do will chime in. If not, I will check back later, and see if there is anything else I can offer!

Welcome to NAM!! Can't help with your radio problem. Check with Alex at the Tire Rack{Vendor} as he can give you good advice on replacement tires. What is snow??
