I'm new to NAM, but have about 25k on my (our) 2005 MC (Just a...).

Here's what I'm asking - when I bought the MC new back in 2004, I found a tuppence coin in the ashtray. At the time I was thinking, 'how cool! The people on the assemblyline keep a bag of the things and put one in all the cars as they are readied for delivery.' Nice British touch!

So am I correct? Does everybody get a coin?

The short answer is no (I didn't get one either ) BUT...when I first ordered my car, I started reading through the threads here and I do remember there being a thread about people finding coins (and stuff? or mostly just coins) in different spots in their MINI's. Needless to say, as soon as I got my MINI, I scoured it trying to find "my" coin with no luck.

So anyway....there you have it

No......but I do recall someone got a little bug once, I believe in the taillight.

 

Heh. I buy so much bird seed already - just had the Mini cleaned yesterday, and made a point to ask them to vacuum up all the residual bird seed. Kites and dancing next? Cool!

Back to the coin - It's the Mini's good luck charm, and it still stays in the otherwise unused ashtray. So far it's worked well - no bump-ups, no mechanical problems, no flat tires, no out-of-gas-side-of the-road, no problems! It's been wonderful.
