OK, this just became the "I just registered" thread
so go ahead and post if you registered. Tell us who you are and where you are coming from and.....well, you know.
So I just registered, too. I have no way to know what my number is, but it was on or about 5 to 10. Whatever. I will see the list, anyway.
Darcy, Berk and I will be there. In fact, I have the luxurious honor (along with Rick) of being one of the ones to map out your rides and the restaurants along the way. I may just drive them all - surely I will find myself up Mt. Evans just as soon as it is open. I will send you all a pic with one MINI. Now, imagine a hundred or so...

On that note...
An article Sunday's Denver Post reported that snow is now being cleared off Trail Ridge Road, the highest paved road in North America and one of the MITM rides! Here's a quote: "... There is nothing quite like springtime in the Rockies. Up above, though, 8 miles past the Beaver Meadows entrance to the national park on a twisting ribbon of asphalt known as Trail Ridge Road, snowdrifts towered 20 feet high and winter still held tight..."
Trail Ridge Road is traditionally cleared of snow by about Memorial Day (they're working on it now).

Welcome to MitM!!
You may want to hook up with Jim Peterson (Zyamfier in NAM) along I-80 in Nebraska...he and other members of C.O.R.N. (Coopers of Rural Nebraska) may have a small group coming.
Jim posts frequently.....find him in our forums.
BTW, if you are a stargazer, note that we have just announced that the Perseus Meteor Shower peaks that weekend so we will be going to some 'high' spots to do some meteor viewing....
See you in Colorado!!

Don't forget place a map pushpin on your location using Frappr (click MITM Frappr in the MITM Menu at left).
If you have any local Aspen knowledge (restaurants, interesting sights, etc.), please share them in the MITM Discussion.
See you soon!

Glad to see your post
If you are coming from Charlotte (Charlotte, Charlotte, or Charlotte???) then you may be coming thru StL and or KC. If so, there is a caravan forming. Feel free to post here or in the StL MINIs forum here in NAM as there is already discussion.
When you get to Denver, be sure that you take the 'scenic' way up, ie the Western Dragon. It starts in Evergreen, a western suburb, and ends at Idaho Springs (or Mt. Evans if you wish). It is a great way to get some altitude, twisties, and more before you even get to summit county.
Glad to see you post, be sure to FRAPPR and RSVP with Copper per our instructions...
Thanks,
Jonathan (Loose Lug Nuts at the Dragon)

Not to scare you off Russell
but there are a few other important things, too, to remember:
- Bring and drink plenty of water. Altitude does strange things to people
- Bring a light jacket for evenings and for the rather common 2:15 pm rain showers. Believe it.
- Bring warm weather gear - at least a few layers, light gloves, etc. for when you go up Mt. Evans. The weather there is nothing like the weather at 5280 ft....
- If you are susceptible to dry eyes, bring drops. This is a dry, semi-arid climate. There are days with <10% humidity.
- Ditto on skin lotion and cream. Ladies especially use a lot. It helps with the skin and you will smell better too.
