Coming thru Florence

you may have seen my other post. A few suggestions:
  • Absolutely take Skyline Drive overlooking Canyon City. It is a 20 minute detour but worth the drive. See that picture at the top of your NAM page, with the 3 MINIs? That is Skyline Drive....
  • Seriously consider the back roads up to Cripple Creek. Fast, twisty, windy. Then you can come down the other side into Florence...and up the valley to Fairplay, and into Copper....
Hope that helps.

I just had to go thru the KS turnpike to Topeka this weekend. From the tool booths to Salina is about 165 miles. The booth is about mile marker 405. You want to meet there at say 7:30-7:45am. This will give us plenty of time to make it there and be fueled up and ready to leave Salina at 10:00. There is a little parking area inbetween the WB/EB lanes just before the tool booths.

Awesome!!! I'm very excited about the trip! If I could just fly the MINI up to so I didn't have to drive across Texas!

You know what's funny....PurpleHaze05 is coming up with me and she JUST emailed me telling me she was going to try and find a scarf for her head so she wouldn't look all crazy haired with the top down.

Damn, now we'll just have to break some laws, rob a store, get in a bar fight and kill a guy by accident (sorta) and then find a good mountain plateau to drive off of.

Leaving from Denver, Friday around 5:30

Anyone else leaving to go up around 5:30 PM on Friday from Denver? I'm attending an all day class at DU and will be leaving directly from that area but would love to be able to caravan with someone(s).

PM me or give me a call: Laurie 720-838-3169

Thanks! Looking forward to seeing all of you there!
