NM - RSE05 Pic Request and Reviews
Please post pics of your MINI with NM RSE05's in any color. I'm going to get the gunmetal greys for a Pure Silver 2004 MCS. Please show off your RSE05's and provide some feedback on these rims. Are they good? Are they bad?
I have no big brakes and just replaced all the rotors and pads so I won't be doing a R56 big brake conversion yet but I'd like to see the RSE05's please.

You can kind of see in this pic that they are just shy of being flush with the wheel arches. My tires are 215/45-17. The wheels are 7.5" width and are equivalent to OEM offsets (+45) and will accommodate BB kits without spacers. I'm not running any spacers/no need. Most OEM MINI wheels in 17" diameter are 7" widths, so that extra .5" and going with 215s makes them sit a bit wider than you'll see most OEM setups w/o spacers. They are very light wheels for 17's - I haven't weighed them personally, but according to marketing, they are around 16lbs each.

lots more pics in my gallery - https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...lery-4715.html
I don't drive too spirited, so performance was not a huge concern of mine. They certainly corner and hold the road much better than the stock 15's my car came with, but as with any smaller profile tire, it's best to take potholes as easy as you can... I'm sure they're plenty durable, but the best of rims can still be damaged from a pothole if you aren't careful enough. Apparently these have a 1 year warranty on the finish and 2 years on structural integrity, but I don't know how much "user error" that includes...

Here are a couple pics of mine.
Disclaimer: It rained yesterday, so my cars not clean, sorry Also this is a quick couple cell phone pics with bad lighting. So I did have to adjust some color settings to make out the wheels since their black. Hopefully they don't look to crappy.
Side Shot:
Front shot:
I have 8mm wheel spacers on the front to clear the KW's I have. But my rear wheels don't have them.
Review: Wheels are really light. 16lbs is awesome. Lighter than my stock 16's. They have an awesome look.
Paint durability is ok. I got caught on a surprise gravel road one time and ended up with a few rock chips. I have the Matte Black wheels, so that paint may be less durable since it doesn't have the glossy coat over the paint.
I bought these when I had the rgular "S" body with standard matte wheel arches. But I recently got my JCW Black band kit that I had the arches painted gloss black so I'm wondering if I should refinish the wheels to something else.
Also, ignore the front bumper gap , I have a larger FMIC so I have do some trimming to do to the lower grille .

I've heard they will fit the S model by modifying the bumper or the lower grille. Anyone know what that involves?
"Complete upper JCW grille kit containing honeycomb grille and upper and lower surround.
As included in the Aerodynamic bodykit.
Front bumper may need modifying if not fitting to a JCW aerokit. The clips on the lower surround will need modifying on either the surround of the bumper to fit."
I see in your sig that yours is a R56, mines an R53 1st Gen

What'd you have to do to modify them? Possible solution is to get the JCW set and an aftermarket set and use the top JCW grille and the bottom aftermarket grille.

I've also seen someone use the JCW top and PastiDipped the bottom.

we typically bend one wheel a month. They are strong enough metal they don't crack. It is very common for good quality lightweight wheels to bend. If they crack it is typically due to cheaper quality light weight wheels.
They are repairable unlike cheaper wheels.
google "kosei wheels cracked" . They are light weight and cheap so they crack. NM just bend sometimes, I bend my OZ superleggera track wheels sometimes too. It happens from pot holes or rumble strips on track.

I got a set of RSE05's from my local MINI mod dealer, BLK Motorsports and did an unboxing and quick review on youtube of these wheels for anyone who's interested in getting them.
