I just installed a set of PSS9's in my 05 MCS. I set the ride height in
the middle of the permissible adjustment range, measured for the top
edge of the spring seat down to the center of the bottom mounting screw.
Front permissible adjustment range 210-230mm set at 220mm drop LF 1 3/16" RF 1 1/4"
Rear permissible adjustment range 175-195mm set at 185mm drop LR & RR 1 1/16"
The permissible adjustment front and rear is 20mm so from the middle setting the car
can be raised or lowered 10mm (0.394")
The Drop range is:
Front ~7/8 to 1 5/8"
Rear ~5/8 to 1 1/2"
David K.
David or any other PSS-9 owner,
I'm mulling over linear springs for the front but when I went to my toolbox for the install instructions, they were gone. I know the bottom measuring points are different between the front and rear and are illustrated in the instructions. So, does anyone have the instructions that they could scan and email?
I'm also trying to figure out the correct inside diameter (2.25", 60 mm or 2.5") and also the uncompressed length and the length with full car weight on the wheels.
I just bought some King Springs for my MC and ill measure before and after. Just to see if the info holds. And you spelt Australia wrong next to King Springs in the first post
Yeah, I installed the king springs today on my MC. I had about a 1 inch drop front and rear. They are still fresh and on the drive home i noticed the front had settled more.
i have h-sport springs with 90,000+ miles on them on my 03 cooper s. as i consider replacing them can someone please give me an opinion/comparison on h-sport vs tsw springs? i am running koni fsd shocks which i really like. didn't bother with camber plates but probably should have as my tire wear is always a problem. also, i do tire of scaping the ground so often ....

TSW springs will be higher than the H-sport, so u wont scrape. How are your struts after 90k?
Hey guys I got the mini mania stage 1 suspension kit with the 2mm sway bar and Vogtland lowering springs. I put them on and they were supposed to produce a 1 inch drop as well as provide better handling. The rear is lowered as promised but the front is still at stock height. Is there something that I missed? I made sure everything went back together properly and even got it aligned and Firestone said everything was put back properly but I don’t understand why the front didn’t get lowered. If anyone has any ideas please let me know
If someone can measure the stock ride height (either ground to jack pucks or wheel center to the wheel well arch) I can measure the drop TSWs give on my car.

This may or may not help you I have a 2004 MCS (R53) and the front measures 25.5" from the center of the wheel arch to the ground the back is 25.25. I just put the mini mania stage 1 suspension kit on which consisted of a BRK 22 mm rear sway bar and Volkland lowering springs. I know my rear is lower but my front is still at the stock height and I am working to figure out why this is. Do you have any suggestions?
Drop: 30-40mm
Linear rate, like OE, NOT progressive like some others
The fronts are approx. 185 lb/in (I don't know if this accounts for the stopper which adds some to the rate)
The rears are approx. 215 lb/in
