Clutch "pop" half-way through pedal press

Clutch "pop" half-way through pedal press
With the hot days of summer, I've noticed that my MCCS chutch has a "pop" to it about half way through the pedal press. I always press to the floor, never half-way... but there is definately a release, or pop that happens about half-way through. I only notice on very hot days 90deg+ and is usually gone after driving for a while. Should I be concered? It is a 2009 MCCS with about 24K on it.

My '06 does this as well, but I notice it most on the "upstroke" - when I have the pedal pressed all the way to the floor and raise it slowly, there's a little "catch" partway up that I can feel in my foot.
75k miles and no problems, so I'm not too worried about it, but I thought it was strange as well.

I recently had the same thing. My car was rear ended and sat for some time while being repaired. I noticed this "hitch", or "pop" when I stepped on the clutch. It was audible as well. I noticed this as soon as the car was returned to me and I drove away from the dealer. The dealer said that its because it sat. Let the fluids circulate. Let's see what happens in 500 miles. I said BS. So I took it back again and on the 3rd try they said they adjusted the position of the pedal.
I do not know what that means exactly but they fixed it on the 3rd try.

Mine is going in this week for the clutch pedal "pop", which sounds like a spring snapping on both the up and down stroke. It is also going in for the "cold start rattle" which has happened a couple of times recently, and the 2nd oil change/full service. I hope they get it all taken care of in one trip, but I doubt it. I have never had such a lack of confidence in a service dept.
My car has been very dependable and it is fun, but it seems a lot of the MINI dealerships really let us down when it comes to good service and fixing "known" problems.

I had same issue on my 09 JCW. The clutch pedal pop was fixed on the first trip. Death rattle took a second trip to fix it. They did the tensioner update on the second visit. But now I've got a low to no boost situation happening. I opened the hood when I got home and noticed that the air box was very loose. Going back tomorrow morning...

Had the same problem but the dealer thought it was user error in that I was pushing the clutch at an odd angle. I'm 100% certain that is not the case. There so little room down there for any kind of angle. lol... Regardless, they replaced it free of charge and the pedal feels great once again.

I had a similar "pop" issue, but during the release of the clutch. My car was just 3 months old when the problem surfaced. Took the car to my dealer, they examined the pedal assembly and noticed a small broken part (I never did ask what was broken) they replaced the part (maybe a nut or washer) did some adjustments -- pop was gone. It's been a year and the "pop" has not resurfaced. I guess the thing to note is that something broke in the assembly. I also noticed that when the "pop" surfaced, the clutch had a *tad* more sideways play. I hope this helps.....

I just noticed that my 2005 MCS does this as well. Let us know what it turns out to be, and what the solution is; if it is something that can be fixed rather easily, or if a trip to the dealer is warranted.

Has anyone found resolution to this? I have the same situation after having a mechanic install a Valeo single mass clutch kit. The feeling goes away after the car is turn off, will stay smooth after a few uses from start up but once i've driven around town the pop in and out starts to happen. Thinking it may be a fluid based issue. I do have light seepage from the slave cyl if I pull the boot back, so maybe air bubble? But the popping is starting to feel mechanical and I hear the clutch clap. ughh.

I had to do it myself, it was cheap because the labor was on me, parts were cheap (ECS Tunning). I bought a new pedal and both bushings, the hardest part is getting the return spring back on, not easy! I spent too much time upside down.

Did we ever find a solution to this pop ?
I purchased a used 09 JCW 90k miles..
Ive put about 1,000 miles on the car, recently it has been very hot ( 100F+ )- I have just started experiencing this "pop". I would describe it as a change in pressure on the clutch that i can feel in my foot, it also lets of some sort of noise ( sounds like compressing air ). Happens when the car is on and off.
This is a clutch pedal issue - ( havent had any signs of a slipping/failing clutch ) -- Just this extremely annoying tick/pop everytime i push down on the clutch pedal.

Think it was just the pedal and new bushings:

Yes,
Add to cart and check out. If you are mechanical , you could do it at home. Otherwise , get a quote for a local shop.
