Not sure if anything is standard (presumably some performance stuff, interior JCW fitment, etc.) but I think it would be pretty easy to top $50k...

EDIT: Just had a chance to go through the builder. There's quite a lot of stuff in the build already, and after adding sport stripes, upgraded wheels, etc. I was just approaching $46k, including $2000 for the leather seats. The only thing left to add was automatic transmission for a further $1250...
Isn't that the Countryman?

Horn Issues

Has anybody noticed either a delay or lack of operation when pushing the horn?

I thought this was just me. There is an area I drive by every now and then, with an elderly couple that sit on their porch; they live to wave every time a car goes by. I have made it a habit of waving to them, and even honking as I drive by.

However, I too have noticed this (possible) delay. I would hit the horn, but no sound and then I am already past them. What I have found is I almost have to push dead center, and "firmly" when I want to hit the horn.

I really needs to be pushed all the way in...? Maybe so you don't accidentally hit it.

But nonetheless, a flaw or not, I too noticed something different about this horn from other cars. ...But, still love my new Clubman and first MINI

Yes, i have have not noticed that in the F56 I drove. Maybe just the way its constructed.

For the F54 JCW Clubman I bet it will be close to 40K. And loaded near 50K. I guess will we see soon.

The Loaded F54 Cooper S my wife built was 50K even her economy to her build was 41K. She had to have a heads up display etc.

When she built the F54 previously she couldn't get the JCW Aero front with the adjustable suspension and some other items she wanted wonder if that's now changed.

Now that's spending. I was thinking starting price for the JCW Clubman. Like 39,995 or something like that. No one will have a 39,995 MINI.

Your probably right. I imagine they will try to keep it under the 40K mark for a starting price.

Hard to think you could shop a Clubman against a new Focus RS... I don't know how I could make myself buy a MINI for $40k. So many things out there in that price range that are incredible cars. 2 series BMW, Focus RS, Used Cayman... ugh, why you so spendy MINI.

The front passenger tire sidewall bubbled out on my wife's F54 S today. The dealer wants $350 for a replacement 225/45-18 Potenza S001. Nope, I am shitcanning them all -- with a measly 4000 miles -- and replacing them with Continental DWS for $600 installed. I was actually planning on ordering winter wheels and tires this weekend since the standard summer tires are useless here from Nov-Mar. Great call on forcing super expensive summer tires on everyone that wanted the 18" wheels, BMW/MINI! 😠

Continental DWS while cheap have terrible grip on higher horespower vehicles.

Now being a Mini and hopefully a stock one U should be fine. I had these tires on a Porsche Cayanne S where they just OK but good in rain. Then tried them on a Porsche Cayman S and they offered very little grip.

So be careful if it was me Michelin Pilot Sport AVS

The DWS has a good reputation among hot hatch and sport compact owners. That is more relevant than experiences with a 4700lb SUV or a light weight sports car, IMO.

OK. Looks like the miniusa.com build site has the JCW Clubman available to build out. Base price is $35,100 plus delivery. I was able to easily add $10k in options without leather or power seats, but there wasn't much left to add at that point. I did notice that wireless Qi charging is in the Technology package. Is that new?

My build was about 38K. Which is 10K more than I want to spend on my next MINI, so I'll be 2 door HT.

So I guess i was a little too high on the price, i was guessing closer to 40K starting. Will not take long to get to 40K.

I have a set of the red stripes for the F54, both roof and hood, still new-in-box, that I will sell for less than retail. Decided not to use them. Let me know.
