Recommended water pump?

So, there are a lot of water pump options for the R53. From Cheap, to OEM.

What do you guys have experience with? While avoiding a $100+ WP.

URO Parts, Gates, OEM, KoolMan, AC Delco, Beck Arnley, GMB...

I will be running a 2% CS crank pulley, and a 15% Alta SC. So, keep it in mind it won't just just a daily driver.

Thanks.

And I thought I was cheap.

$99 from wmw for oem and maybe never need another water pump for the car.

I imagine an aftermarket with metal instead of plastic impeller could be better than oem. OEM isn't ALWAYS the best option for replacement parts

When I changed mine at 100k it looked perfectly fine. Im apt to trust wmw, they work on a ton of Minis and recommend oem for the water pump.

I'm no oem snob, our Mini's have plenty of crap parts from the factory, I don't think the water pump is one of them though.

Water pump

We've realized after 40 years with the brand on the street and track, and having the first BMW MINI in the USA, that OEM can be best for certain applications. In this case, OEM or quality aftermarket like Value Line, or factory remanufactured like the dealers use, will fit the bill.

URO Parts, Gates, OE, Beck & Arnley, GMB, Saleri are all reputable brands I wouldn't hesitate to install any of them on my car or a customers.

The time it takes to get to the water pump and labor to install it should also be taken into consideration when wanting a "cheap option", while you save a few bucks up front you could be spending the same money in a few months to a few years time.

Going with OEM Mini.

$108 looks like the best price I have found so far.

This is the same replacement unit used by the MINI dealers.
