Labor Hours for clutch & 4 shocks

'02 R50.

What should I expect in terms of labor hours to for a clutch (pressure plate, T/O bearing & cover plate) job and also to have all 4 shocks replaced?

Thank.

The shocks are roughly and hour per corner...I think that is what the "book" says... the clutch is going to be the killer

My mechanic told me it took him 2 hours longer than book for the last mini clutch he did. If they do them often then it's not gonna be as bad, Id guess 8 hours for the clutch.

It is 2.9 hours for the front struts. 1.6 fo the rears. The clutch is 10.2 and add .2 if our doing the flywheel as well. Straight from alldata.

I just had my clutch and flywheel replace nous a few other things. They charged me for 11 hours of labor just on those 2 things.

I put new springs on the car, and truely the hardest part of it was getting my wheels off. It was a new to me 02, and man were they rusted on badly.

Ouch!! MORE than book!?
Most places start at book...then will do a slight discount or cut the labor rate to get a job...
A mechanic that knows his stuff can do a clutch in about HALF book....heck....a few mini centric shops can do it while you wait....long wait...but doable.
Now to be honest...if a car has a few "difficult bolts" it can take longer than book...but the is why the fixed rate is there....so you are not paying extra for a slow or untaltented mechanic.... A good one can bill several hours more than "book" in a day...THAT is where shops make the $$.
