I am so thankful my gf wasn't in the car and that the MINI is a tank because the lady not only ran the red, she was also way over the speed limit. Had the nerve to say I ran the red after... >:C The front side of her new Highlander is completely gone. I have to go to the local businesses and see if they have any cameras facing the intersection. Hopefully parts will be up for sale soon in the marketplace.

Yeah I have full insurance on the car. It just pisses me off that it'll be 50/50 blame because there were no witnesses and one of the cops that showed up to the accident was her relative (tow truck guy told me.) But I went to the local business in the corner and they have cameras facing the intersection. Hope they have it recorded. *finders crossed*

Was the officer related to the other driver the one who took the collision report? If so, I suggest you contact his/her supervisor and make it known that there is a conflict of interest in the investigation. It may or may not help but it worth a shot. Sorry about your loss. Glad you are ok. Good luck!

If you recently put parts into the car, dig up the receipts and use that as part of the discussion over value of the car at time of total. It might get you a few extra bucks.
The reality is both her insurance company and yours are out for themselves. They have a common goal of minimizing the loss they pay out to maximize their profits. Take a look at your resources and then look at theirs, you are out gunned. You should at least speak to a lawyer, most time it is without fee to assess the situation, but even if you had to pay for an office visit it is worth it.
I won't buy a used car without paying for a qualified inspection. I sure won't settle a future accident without consulting a lawyer. ( Made that mistake before and it cost me thousands and thousands of dollars over medical issues for the next 18 years.)

...can't stress the importance of this more! tires, brakes, aftermarket upgrades, labor charges for the work done, everything. it can all add up to at least increase the payout value.
I should also mention the Grundy MVP program, which has agreed value coverage for daily drivers, instead of market value.... Yagottawantit, but at least you know what the $ on the check will be.
