No sound.

Recently got my car back from a friend of a friend to fix my clutch and now my radio turns on but no sound. Also here and there it sounds like my speakers are making a popping sound. Could someone give me a checklist or what to check and where? I have no clue. I just got the mini a could of months ago and still learning things.

start simple

reach around to the back of the radio and just all the connectors in to ensure they are tight. Something may have been knocked loose. Ditto, check the fuse panel and give everything a press to ensure they are seated

the popping could be signs of an intermittent connection. How this got impacted by a clutch change is a little weird tho. Does everything else behave normally? Car runs OK and the lights and speedo and tach are all OK?

Thinking about swapping out head units with aftermarket. Is it an easy swap. I would like to have bluetooth and usb connection.

My last Mini did the same thing. The radio was working perfectly then all of a sudden the rear speakers turn off. Then the fronts but then the rears popped every 5 seconds. so frustrating.

I traded that mini in for a newer one, replaced the stereo to aftermarket now im dealing with electrical issues & voided Warranty threats by the dealer. Wish I didnt mess with the radio. ;-(
