JCW Recaro seats are a GO!!! DONE!!!
Whewwww.... as many of you know, I have been fighting with JCW Recaro's to install correctly for a week now.
Last night before I left, I fought with them for what I thought was the last time.
Early this morning, I took them apart to fix the nuts that broke free on the inside. I got everything together and took the car to get the SRS light cleared.
After several attempts, the light would not clear and it said the computer could not connect with the occupancy weight sensor. (? HUH, why?)
They reprogrammed it and it still wouldn't take.
I brought the car back to my shop and AGAIN took the seats apart. Before noon today, I had the pass. seat out of the car and apart at least 3-4 different times....
After reviewing everything, checking schematics, double and triple checking, I made a last ditch attempt of pulling the sensor from the seat (remember, I took it from a wrecked '09 clubman... same part#) and took apart my factory seat.
I installed the sensor and guess what....
SHE WORKS!!!
All lights are off, everything is functional, the seats are perfect, fit perfect and work perfect.
I am a happy camper.
What a ton of work for something so simple.
So, just for the record, the Recaro seats can be made to work.

As requested...
Next week I have an upholstery guy coming to pic up the spare rear seats. He's going to cut foam to match the curvature of the front Recaro seats and then reupholster them in black leather and suede. Before he mounts everything, I'm going to an embroidery shop to see if they'll make the logo. (I'll probably have to do the same thing I did on a Corvette.. .that is, get written permission from the manufacturer)

Most everything that was done is written here. There's no instructions and to be honest, there's no need for them.
Here's a link when I did the installation.
Having said that, there a few things that need to be done.
1) transfer seat position switch on driver's seat. (the switch reads off a magnet that is already on our rails and tells the airbag how much force it should exert based on the driver's distance from the airbag)
*
2) either transfer occupancy weight sensor from stock pass. seat (or buy new one) and install in the JCW pass. seat. It is a ribbon pad that the passenger sits on. (as of now, I have found no way to "fool" the sensor by using a resistor or the such.
*
3) if the occupancy weight sensor is bought new, it must be reprogrammed. If it was transferred from the original seat, the system must be reset.
*
It's quite easy, it was frustrating since I used a seat sensor out of junkyard and apparently it was defective.
When I'm not typing on the iPad and get to my normal laptop, I'll write up a tutorial.

The wiring diagrams show that the sensor is connected to the car through a k-bus digital interface. No way a resistor could work. You'd have to use a microcontroller and make it send the messages that the car is expecting.
