Are our gauges back-illuminated or front? I am curious what satin black would look like? White on black in day, red on black at night? Would there be any loss of legibility?
I'm also wondering how it would look illuminated. I was considering getting some gauge faces in a graphite, or maybe that satin black. How about the ones similar to the GP?
We have not yet removed the speedo from the dash, so I can't tell you how difficult/easy the removal is. As for the overlays, it is pretty easy to disassemble and install the overlays. The needle is a little tough to get off, but it is do-able.
We have a nice grey that is similar to the JCW GP. We should have pics of those within' a week or so. We do not have any shots of the gauges illuminated as we do not have access to a MINI
K - The multi color gauges are those that are special requests (i.e. if a customer wants more than one color).
Any thoughts on a Space blue metallic for an R53? I have the chrono package so I would like the overlays for the two smaller guage pods with speedo and tach, and then one bigger one for the large pod and assorted gauges.

The gauges are back-illuminated, and they should be fully legible at night. However, I'd be worried about legibility during the day for the darker color faces. The markings are also dark and they have no light colored outlines to highlight them. The carbon fiber looks like it will be especially hard to read during the day because the face and the markings are so close in darkness. Did you consider outlining all the marks?
Anyone have them on there Mini lit up that can post pics? Also I plan to change the LED's I want the numbers to be all white, the miles to be blue, the gas in red and the water in another color. By changing all the lights will the gauge still light up just like the stock ones? Know what I am saying?

So far my favorite is Aluminum, followed by the CF...I can't decide...
I will wait to see what all you guys come up with though. Then, I will order some.
They look great, but I would need to see them lit up before deciding to purchase.
