sort of special. it's the cooper d hood. it's kinda a mix between the cooper and cooper s. it has the "bulge" or "presence" of the s, but without the actual scoop. see how the cooper has sort of a torpedo while the cooper d has a bigger bulge?

And it clears the turbo, so it's an easy hood scoop delete job.

Wheels are Steel Gray Rota MC. Tires are 245/35R18 Kumho XS. We used a 5mm spacer on the front to get the tire to clear the strut.

they're 18x8, i think he's rocking 245 tires.

only reason i don't absolutely hate them is that bbs lm's aren't available in 18's. that makes it somewhat okay having knockoffs....

LM's come in sizes 18"-20" But those reps do look good on his MCS.

I took a drive up to Rainier National Park today...checking on Chinook Pass for depth of snow. It looks like I wont be hiking up there for at least a few more months. The snow was at least 10 feet tall and more on my favorite hiking trails....

i like the way you're mini looks, the rota's are bad ***. i love rota wheels, they are super light and they have a good selection of styles and color finishes. the 16" wheels on my honda civic are rota circuit8's and they are made to be replica's of a Mugen Wheel design.

they look pretty much identical to me. mine are the first release of that wheel and they dont make them in that finish anymore though. i'm thinking about getting the gold flashback wheel for my civic soon though.

replica or the real deal, makes no difference to me. that's just digging too deep into minor details for semi-constructive criticism. but then again that's just my opinion.

nice to see you're rocking poorly made wheels on your "track only" car. just hope you don't end up like this...

and yes, i am making a big deal out of it. in my opinion, a company making replicas of wheels that are currently in production is completely wrong. After production, sure, go right ahead. But it's definitely a complete infringement on intellectual property. There's minor differences i'm sure but there's many other options out there that look very similar that aren't replicas.

do they look good, yes. but personally, the fact that they're replicas completely takes away from it. Its like barry bonds and how he will always be remembered for achieving what he did with steroids...

dwf, we sell hundreds of Rota wheels, so if there's a problem with the quality, I'd certainly hear about it. To the contrary, we get nothing but positive feedback about the wheels. The quality is very good, and the price is affordable for most people. And yes, you'll see TONS of Rotas at your average track day event.

Sure, most of the Rota designs are similar to other wheels. While this may not be something you like, it is legal. Functional items are not covered by copyright. Unless the product is patented, any company is free to make similar products to any other company. You can see this at your local Target store, where last spring's designer styles are available on the discount rack from knock-off labels. Sure, in one sense this makes it hard for the innovator to capitalize on their R&D. On the other hand, it means the only way for a company to get a lasting advantage is to continue to innovate to stay one step ahead -- the competition stimulates continuous creativity. Plus, if there's a real technical innovation, that can be patented.

Sorry, my post has strayed kind of far from "Post pictures of your R56..." If we want to discuss wheels more we should probably take up a new thread.
