Rear control arm bushings?

There is tons of talk about here about replacing the front LCA bushings, which I'm actually doing this week. But almost nobody speaks of replacing the rear ones on the trailing arm, specifically with powerflex. Are these done by replacing the whole bushings like the fronts are, or simply putting in a bushing insert the same way the motor mounts are done?

No one has done their rears? Seems like such an cheap and easy mod too.

I've thought about it too...haven't looked into it in a while. Does the Powerflex site have a pic of the actual bushing?

Yes, I've seen the pic of the yellow powerflex bushings. I believe they're only an insert, which should be super easy to do. I'm not sure how difficult it is to remove the rear control arm, but it looks pretty simple.

Cool...well next time I order something from WayMotorWorks i might throw in a set of these too. What's the part number?

I think they would make a pretty nice difference in terms of predictability of the rear end.

I don't know the part number off hand, but I have seen them on Way's site. They're the rear trailing arm bushings, not the rear control arm bushings. But of course you could get those too.

I've replaced the trailing arm bushing in my car. Yes it is an insert. It tightens up the rear somewhat although I only owned my R53 2 days when this was done so I was still getting used to the car. This bushing goes where the bolt is for adjusting the rear toe.

Another rear bushing I replaced is the rubber bushing for the rear top shock mount with the MINI Madness urethane bushing. Replacing this made the biggest difference in the rear although it does add some vibration to the cabin but I love it.
