AC is smelly

So Summer is almost here and I have been running the AC here and there.

When I turn on the AC it blows the most nasty smelling air on earth. Anyone have this problem before.

Seriously it smells like dirty feet and it is GROSS!!!

It goes away after a few minutes of the AC running.

go here:

https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...t/4412/cat/fav

Send him 20 bucks.........he has maybe - one left. So dont wait too long.

When you get it, it will look larger than the box it goes into which is just above the feet of where your front seat passenger sits.

Open the box and you will find the old one snaked up to the left center of firewall. Install new one in same manner.....

This comes from any water left in the filter or moisture from the A/c. What you need to do is go to the Auto parts store and get Friggy Fresh. Set your A/c to the fresh air setting and spray it from the outside intake vent while the A/C is working. This is what I did while working at the dealership.

The link I provided are for the Charcoal ones.....usaully 50 bucks. They filter out bad odors frm outside air.

Dont buy the cheap 10 dollar plain ones form Autoxayulights. they are just paper

Wow, but what size microns does it filter ? Does it filter our molecules up to 300mu ? Because if you have allergy problems, that is what you would prefer.

If you can check the old box Dave and let us know - as that is a great price.

I don't have the filter box any longer, however I called the company and they said the filter is very comparable to OE. Thats good enough for me. There have been links on NAM about this product if you search. I'm sure the filter you are talking about is a good one as well.

Have read here that if you don't use the recirculation mode all the time, the filter lasts longer.
