all 07 minis come with two fobs with embedded metal keys.

 

when you are riding with your wipers on, and you come to a stop as at a traffic light, your wipers slow to intermittent automatically, then resume wiping once you start off again. Thats what they did from the medium setting at least - I did not try the fast setting. And, no, I don't have rain-sensing wipers.

 

They're speed sensitive wipers. I believe at fast speed they slow down to normal when you come to a stop, and on intermittent speed, they stop when you stop. It's standard from the factory.

 

This also happens on the R53.

 

that may seem like it could get anoying? does it for people who have r53 or there r56s now?

A few more:

• The speed-sensitive volume adjustment on the radio (at least the HiFi) is itself adjustable
• You can have different bass/treble/balance/fader settings for FM, AM, CD, and AUX. Presumably the iPod adapter and CD changer would keep their own settings.
• You can access some OBC settings from the radio (things like time, units of measure, read the fuel economy, etc.

If you have the bluetooth option when someone in your phone's phonebook calls you thier name pops up on the radio screen.

 

When you arrive at your destination and shut off your Mini, when you get back in and start up again the CD player starts the last track at the beginning.

I like that. I'd rather hear a song from the beginning than pick up where I left off ...it doesn't work for books but it does for music.

The storage wells in the doors have a groove, or channel that comes out of them at the rear - can't figure out why that is.

 

I didn't know that (if programmed properly) a quick tap on the turn signal will flash the turn signal 3 times, then stop. Great for lane changes, instead of holding it down. I love this!

 

didnt know there was a "speed" button until the saleman decided that I had more than a clue on how to drive enthusiastically. was that on the r-whatever that preceeded this one? hey, give me a break - I had a mini before you punks were born!

. . . no "sped" button on R53. They just came with "fast", 'on' all the time.

At what speeds do you get the over boost, or what rpms?...gimme a situation

 

Here's something I didn't expect...the boot on my R56 MCS gets a lot cleaner in an automatic touchless carwash (those "laser wash" types of places) than its R53 brother did.

 

I just need to clarify this. You can program the car to autolock when you drive away, but you can't program it to unlock when you turn off the ignition? Is that correct? If so, I don't understand the logic behind that.

 

Once you have programmed the car to auto-lock (at 10mph) the doors do open when you turn off the engine, at least in the UK version they do.

 

... spec versions too. As well as very late build R53s.

 

Okay, so on the R56, if you program the car to autolock at 10mph, it will automatically unlock when you turn off the engine. Correct?
