I've got a 2003 MCS With the HK system.

The front left tweeter and the front right mid speaker do not work. I took apart the door panel on the left and the wires are hooked up fine.

When you tune the system to the front-left you only hear bass, and when tuned to the front-right only hear the tweeters. What could this be?

 

Are the wires coming out of the HU or amp ok?

 

I havn't checked those, where is the amp located?

 

The H/K amp, I believe, is behind the passenger side rear interior panel. My car does not have the H/K system, but I seem to recall others talking about it back there.

The loss of sound to a few speakers might also be a sign of the amp failing. I do not know enough about the H/K system to be of any help in the amp upgrade or repair process. There should be a good deal of threads about upgrading the H/K system. (more cost effective and yields better sound than direct H/K amp replacement.)
