New Rims for Winter Tires will they work?

Hello All,

We Just purchased a used 2019 Mini Cooper. I live in MA. We got rid of our 2003 SAAB 9-3. Just a few years ago we purchased new winter tires. So I have

215/55 R16 Blizzaks with just 4000 miles on the tires. Like new.

I did my research I purchased a set of rims that will hopefully work with the tires

Rim size 16x7.5 +45
Backspacing: 6.02
Offset: +45
Wheel Diameter: 16
Wheel Width: 7.5
Hub Bore: 66.60
Bolt Patterns: 5x112

I realize according to some online tire/rim calculators the over size may make the speedometer over by 1-2 mph.

Just looking for people who are familiar with this car and trying see if there is something I was not aware of and missed?

I realize this is wider rim by 1", but have seen other Coopers with wide rims.

Thank you in advance,
Larry

Yes, they'll work. They're a little larger OD than stock as you've noted, and wider as well which isn't ideal for winter tires, generally you want to go narrower, but they'll still be a huge improvement in the snow compared to whatever factory all-season you've got.

Thank you.
i do realize the wider tire reduces the pound force per square inch on tire contact patch. Ideal would be a slimmer tire for winter tire. Again just trying to milk the set of tires we already have. Also the wider tire will be a bit of an experiment.

The softer winter tire rubber is like first class in a plane on the Seinfeld show. Once you experienced it, it is hard to not travel that way.

Thank you for the verification on the specs. Had no clue about the back side clearance or clearance on the brakes.

Thank you.

Also. Make sure the lug bolts have sufficient length to properly engage the hub holes. I got similar wheels (I think they were from a Mercedes C) some yers ago and had to buy longer lugs to mount them securely.

I'd get one mounted, test fit it on the front & rear, put some weight on it & check the steering.
I think you'll be OK.

I'm running 18x8 +45 with 225/40/18 and lowered with JCW Pro coilovers and no rubbing.

What rims did you get?
