WTB Aux Audio Input for 2006
I have the OEM iPod adapter kit, but would recommend looking at the DICE Silverline iPod interface that EAS (www.europeanautosource.com) sells. It's $149, which is about the same price as the OEM kit, but the DICE kit also gives you an AUX input, displays track title/artist on your head unit, and still allows you to navigate through the iPod's menus using the iPod controls, unlike the OEM kit, which locks up the iPod as soon as it's connected, and only allows you to control the iPod from the head unit or steering wheel buttons.
you can always build your own aux iput device for your ipod. Just need to remeber to put in the resistors and capacitors in and be a moderate at soldering. But if you want oem you will probably find one on line for around 40-50 dollars new or used.
If what you're looking for is just the generic mini-stereo connection that fits any headphone jack, there is a very simply DIY somewhere in NAM that uses a computer CDROM audio cable. You probably have one lying around but even if you buy one at a computer store, it'll probably cost $2. The OEM cable is about $40!
