I've been finding that the knurled ring that secures the spring cover seems to work itself loose every month or two. This is likely due to thermal cycling and vibration. When this happens it leads to boost fluctuations. Anyone have any suggestions for keeping it from coming loose?

Loctite possibly, or am I off with regard to what you're describing?

Hopefully this isn't a problem, I just ordered one of these.

I thought about trying some kind of thread locker but I'm not sure which one would be best for the temperatures the BOV sees. It gets pretty hot.

It would be better if there were some kind of wave-spring or gasket with enough compliance to take up the changes in the parts during thermal cycling. I may try making a custom graphite gasket. It ought to be able to take the temperature. Putting the gasket between the valve body and the spring cover would also make a better seal than the metal against metal interface as manufactured.

Loctite has a formula that will withstand 650 degrees continuous:

Of course I have no idea how of it gets at that area of the valve. Might be worth a try though unless it gets hotter than that.

I'm concerned about it having just orderd the Forge from Way that's on it's way as we speak.

Overall, I think it's a good product but it has caused me some hassles when the retainer has come loose. I'd just recommend inspecting it once in a while. Checking to see if the retainer is tight requires taking off the turbo inlet hose, but that's a 60-second job. It does seem to have better performance than stock. I'll be happy if I can find a simple way to keep mine from loosening up over time.

Does any one have a sounds clip of this? and can we hear some reviews on the product (performance wise)?

Thanks!

Same here ^^

Never had an issue of it coming loose. Perhaps a QC issue? Might want to call them on that.

Bmw_ssg: Here's one of my old videos when it first got installed. It was a crappy video that was de-synced from the audio, but you can hear what it sounds like in a closed cabin:

Theta,

Thanks for the video. I ordered mine( as well as springs and a CAI) from WAy Motors on Friday. The video helped a lot, thanks again.

Is that video the vent to atmosphere version? I have the recirculating version and it doesn't make that sound.

I've had the forge unit from WMW for about a year.

^If you have a N14 R56, pm BattleTuning for the DV+ diverter valve. Less involved install and works way better. JMTC recommends it as well.
