Great news there!!

I've always love my MINI-FINI armrest and think it's the nicest one available.

The quality is awesome, and it still looks great after more than 2 years.

What is the BMW/MINI policy about towing trailers with the MINI-FINI hitch setup?

Tow with a MINI ?

If you ever get MINI to make a statement on trailer towing in the U.S.A. please let us know.

I have a 2004 MINI Cooper S. On page 76 of the owner’s manual under
"Determining cargo limit" it says.

"6. If your vehicle will be towing a trailer, load from your trailer will be
transferred to your vehicle. Consult the manual for transporting a trailer
to determine how this may reduce the available cargo and luggage load
capacity of your vehicle." (The 2005 owners manual says the same thing.)

I have installed a Sport Link on my Sis's S And also had a hitch fabricated from the Sport link for My S. I would not recommend anything over 1000 Lbs.

Disclaimer
"I am not an Engineer"
So if you want to try and pull a 5000lb travel trailer I say why not Go for it

towing with a mcs

well as me and my dad proved the mini is a very capable towing vehicle we towed 1700 pounds in a uhaul from columbus ohio to fontana through the dragon both ways no problems at all..

now as for what i would tow every day i think a dirt bike or two, or a little luggage trailer with a weeks worth of clothes,or a quad runner would be fine

Note me and my dad have a well modified mcs and needed all the extra power to get through the dragon i am not telling any body what to or not to tow with there mini you as an indivdual have to use your good judgment and think about the breaks and the condition of the clutch and relize when "the guys From MINIfini do it" it is research and development product testing not something we tell customers to do every day

Will MINI/FINI..

Be upgrading the tonge weight and tow cap. in the future, maybe a stroger brace or connecting it infront of the rear wheels for more support like the brackets M7 make for the front?

I have pulled

My MCS has pulled the trailer in my sig from Nebraska throught the Dragon and back. The trailer empty weighs in at a whole 450lbs. Then you add all the travel goodies grill, E-Z up, tools, blankets, cooler (full), suitcase, extra tent, and several other things. Never had an issue. As you can see Killboy liked it.

Enjoy pulling something but do it within reason. And yes the trailer wheel is over one line.

An excerpt from my website...

In 2004 I found specifications on WWW that APPEARED to be MINI specs.
On two European MINI web sites I found that the MINI (not S)
is rated for towing a fair size load.
On the MINI One, MINI One D, and MINI Cooper; an unbraked trailer should
not exceed 550 KG (1,210 pounds). For a trailer with brakes the
capacity is 650 KG (1,430 pounds). The UK and Ireland sites had a
Tow Hitch listed as a MINI part. It said on one site, 650 KG, and on the
other site it said vertical load (tongue weight) is 75 KG.
For the MCS it said "trailer not possible". (Sure not with the MINI hitch!)
I have been told that folks in Europe do not drive 75 mph when pulling a trailer.
This may be the reason MINI chooses not to make trailer towing equipment
available in this country.

We are working hard toward early to mid July for having the Armrest ready to ship. We have materials coming in from "the four corners" so to speak. Also be sure to check our site for our new aluminum floor mats! Click on "products" to see them or use this link ---> http://www.minifini.com/Shop.aspx Thanks for your interest!

We also will be offering the final version of the sport-link cargo carrier, with a
modification available to carry four autocross tires, this week . Several more new attachments for the sport-Link are currently in development so we will keep posting as they are ready.
