This will be my wife and I first year going to this event how many on here are going and if so any ideas for which hotel to stay in the night before as we will be driving from des moines iowa up to Michigan.

 

I've done Minis on the Mack all three times (2013, 2015, & 2017) and it's a lot of fun. You'll want to stay in a hotel north of the Mackinac Bridge in St. Ignace since that's where it starts and finishes. You could stay in Mackinaw City south of the Bridge, but you'd have to pay the toll a few extra times! Plenty of good places to stay since it's a big tourist area. Be sure to spend a day on Mackinac Island before or after the event (no cars, so you'll have to leave your Mini behind for the day).

"Justa" plain old Mini. 2012 R-56. British Racing Green. I've had it since it was brand new and now it has about 115,000 miles on it. I'm actually heading across the Mackinac Bridge tomorrow for a meeting in Sault Ste. Marie, which is a little further north.
