Will be picking up the route in Chicago late Sunday. What is the usual check in procedure from previous events?

I am leaving Sunday! I will be doing the entire trip, starting from and then driving back to Atlanta. Start to finish about 22 days for me. I've got Waze, my radios set to 7-21, and Buster is all checked out.
I can't wait to see you all along the route!

heading from Chicago to Charlotte July 4 and 5 then back to Chicago via Nashville and Louisville. I'm really pumped up for the road trip and events, plus meeting so many friendly Mini owners.

I only did a couple of legs in MTTS 2010 but at each evening's event there was always a table for everyone to register and for new entrants to pick up their swag bags.

In Chicago that should be at the Autobahn Country Club in Joliet between 5 pm and 8:30 pm.

I'll be running the Boulder to L.A. legs

Also just FYI - I"ll be doing a "Drive for Autism" during MTTS 2012. Years ago my youngest son was diagnosed with autism and SARRC (Southwest Autism Research & Resource Center ) really helped us out. They pointed us in the right direction and got Kyle on the right path. He is 10 years old now and I thought it was time for us to help them help other families. So if you see me during MTTS, and want to help out, I will be taking donations. OR you can use the info below to donate directly to SARRC ( please tell them about Kyle & Johns Drive ).Please contact me with any questions. THANKS For your Time - Be Safe - I will see everyone between Boulder & L.A. !!!

I'm picking up at the Louisville - Chicago leg. Do I *have* to be in Louisville on Saturday night to register, or can I do it on Sunday morning? There were no tickets to the Louisville event when I signed up, so there's no sense in being there the night before otherwise...

Planning to come down to the MINICross event in Joliet. I signed up both me and my wife to drive.

Couldn't find out much about it so I don't know what to expect. Do we use our own car or demonstrators? Do we get just 1 run or a chance for more? Are people typically willing to take first-timer passengers to show us some tips?

Mello, at the two MTTS I've done MINIUSA provides the cars. At Chicago last time they had an instructor rideing in the car with you. You'll have fun. See you there!

Letting everyone know that when you enter Des Moines via Chicago, there are speed cameras from the Bass Pro Shop (yes, I know, Bass Pro Shop) all the way till 63rd st. exit. They were put up like a year or so ago and have really surprised folks in the city with nice mailings. There was some construction this weekend on I-80 just west of DSM, but its all good now. Everyone from the dealer will be at the night event.

I'm pretty sure coming in to Des Moines that they will go from I-80 to the Hwy 5 bypass around to the south side and the Zoo. Also as far as I know there is only one speed camera and it's eastbound at 42nd Street. 3 of us will be at the View Motel - 10 miles east of Galena - looking forward to joining the group

Anyone know what the night event in Chicago entails. I may swing down for the afternoon if my schedule permits. I wont stay overnight or drive any of the legs unfortunately.

I forgot to grab a MTTS 2012 grill badge At Loveless Cafe in Nashville yesterday. Can someone on the rally pick one up for me and I can pay you back? I'd really appreciate it!

Just PM me!

Nice day of Iowa motoring!

Had a nice day on (and off) the MTTS tour of Iowa. We'd stayed in Joliet overnight after the race track events, not finding it compelling to drive another hour plus into downtown Chicago just to leave from Soldier Field en masse, so: we didn't.

Instead, we left Joliet trying to time it to hit Galena IL about the same time as the rest of the participants. And, we seemed to, connecting with a group of MINIs just east of Galena and making good time all the way to Dubuque. I did spot an enthusiastic group of MINIs and owners at The View motel east of Galena, and I stopped in Dubuque when my group did to say hello. Was a nice couple in a CM from NJ, and the lead car? Their daughter, pretty cool, and a smooth, quick driver. Fun times and nice scenery!

We split off a bit, to work in a visit to our favorite GSD kennel in Grinnell, as we were passing right thru. Then on to Des Moines, check in, and a nice catered BBQ event at the Blank Zoo a few miles away. Far less crowded than Joliet, it was easy to mix, mingle, and converse,

Pancake breakfast tomorrow, then it's back home for us.

Hi all,
I'm sorry for not searching the threads for the answer, but I figured now that we're in the middle of MTTS someone might have a concrete answer.

I am planning on registering last minute and doing the PHX to LA leg, or possible just the LA events.
My question is, is it worth it to only go to one event, and what does the $30 reg fee include? (goodie bag, food, etc)

The registration fee gets you the goodie bag and a badge that they scan at the morning and evening events. At some events you have to get the badge scanned to enter, such as a White Horse Saloon and Blank Zoo. Other times the area is more wide open and there is no way to check everyone. Morning Rise and Shine and evening events always have food.
Hope that helps. I did Nashville to Des Moines and having MTTS withdrawal today.

I thought it was worth it to register for just the LA events. For 2010 they had a great party in Los Angeles (free food and drink) so I suspect the House of Blues event will be good. I also plan to attend the Rose Bowl and Gladstones party.

In the same boat, didn't pick one up at the event at Wild Horse Saloon, and they were out of the grill badge at the Nashville MINIcross. Hoping someone who has an official MTTS 2012 Grill Badge still in the package will post part no. so that there's a chance of ordering it from the dealer -- that's how I got MTTS 2006 grill badge after they sold out.

I was told at the evening event in Des Moines that they were going to have them at the rise and shine event the next day. I got there as soon as I could and they said they didn't have any. I called the MTTS event number that they have on the website and she said that they are going to have them on shopminiusa.com the day after MTTS is over on the 15th. I didn't get one because I couldn't go on to Lincoln. I really need to get one! lol
