Doesn't look like there have been any posts to this thread in a while, but wanted to introduce myself to other Long Island mini enthusiasts. I am Mike, and I live in Hicksville. Just bought my 2015 mini cooper s hardtop in volcanic orange. I am a longtime collector and fan of British and other European classic trucks and cars. Am eager to join in mini events as Spring and Summer approaches

Actually, I have a collection of one at the present moment consisting of the mini. Just sold an '84 ROW Land Rover D-90 (200tdi) in order to purchase the mini. Also have owned a '69 Land Rover Series lla, a 1951 MG TD, a 1980 MGB, a '77 midget and a Range Rover. I do also have a 2013 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited and a 2003 Wrangler for everyday use. Anyway, the mini suits me fine. Really love its handling, acceleration, responsiveness, thoughtful control placement, excellent seats and fine fit - n - finish. Can't wait to do some trips out to eastern Long Island. Again, interested in any events, gatherings where mini owners may get together.

Would love to find a group of Long Island MINI owners looking for regular get togethers, cruises, etc in LI. Let's get something going here! It's not like there aren't a lot of MINI's around as I see tons every day! Happy to organize or help organize.

I believe that the us mini club, long island was looking for someone to step in as president. One of the members has stepped in as acting President, but he may be looking for assistance. See facebook link a few postings up. There is a Long Island Mini Car Show scheduled for May I believe. Check out web site and facebook link. We had a great mini wine rally on the east end of long island a couple of weeks ago.

Don't know if I have the time to be president of any organization though happy to help out! Too bad about the wine rally, would've liked to attend. Is there another one? As for the car show in May are you referring to the mini-q in Bethpage on 5/3?Originally Posted by isleofbones

What's up guys, new to this site.
I have a 2011 R56. Bone stock at the moment (save for a new shift ****) but I'm looking to put in a NM Intake, Alta hot side boost tube and a Manic ECU tune over the next 2 months or so. Look out for my baby cruising around the Ronkonkoma area.

Hello everyone,
I've perused the forum and think that this is great that there is a Mini subculture. Had no idea what I was getting myself into when I bought the mini. ha ha
I just moved from Potsdam, NY and live in Astoira,Queens work in Bethpage, NY. Sold my 2004 Honda Car and Motorcycle to get something that is like a motorcycle and car all in one. MY 2009 Mini cooper,Blk stripes- red 6 speed. Love it! So much fun. Alright, I'm still getting a feel for the area, the MINI needs some service. I don't know any mechanics down here, could someone point me to a good Mini mechanic?
Also, when is the next minicade (where a bunch of minis drive around together) I've done this with my motorcycle but I never thought people did this with cars! I'm so excited that this is a thing!!!
Any Advice is welcome
Cheers!

Just recently got my 2015 mini cooper s back from the dealer for the main crankshaft thrust bearing recall. It's driving great and I am anxious to do some rally driving with the better weather.
