Goodness! Some of you drive so much. The most miles I've ever put on a car in a year was last year when I put 18,000 miles on my 1990 Montero, only left us stranded once, alternator went out on freeway coming into Bakersfield, CA. Messed up our weekend plans, but that's what you get for driving a car that's +-25 years old.

Most years I put less than 12k on my car(s) combined.

First You Drive 1/2 Million Miles; - Then, 55,555.5 More

This MINI is still amazing me day by day.

No, I don't commute 200 miles per day; -
actually, I'm retired and 88 years old -
so, most of those miles have been
just for fun and foolishness.

Always loved to drive, and had
fancy German cars for 45 years
before I bought this one in 2002.
They were all good -
but, none was ever this good -
or this much fun to own and drive!

Me sell this car? Why?
Everything is still working like it's supposed to; -
even that original muffler!

100000 Miles and Counting

Made the 100,000 mile mark on July 9 at 6:19pm. This milestone was unceremoniously accomplished in Orange County on the 22Fwy at Haster. Averaging 25K per year, some of the miles in between include, a mountain top visit to a communications repeater site in Porter Ranch, at least four runs through the Northern Sierras visiting family in Nevada City (I waived at the NAM building at least a couple of times). I don't want to jinx anything but, I am on the original clutch, my third set of tires all purchased through Tire Rack, changed out the original Cooper grill to a S-Type grill, installed a K&N air filter, blacked-out the windows and this car just keeps going. When I built and ordered my 2010 R56 on-line, I thought this was the easiest experience buying a car. This little car Go-Kart just keeps me smiling mile after mile!

Cool picture! Glad you're still enjoying motoring. You've added a couple of hundred thousand miles since MINIs In The Mountains, 2009!

My Mini turned over 100,000 miles yesterday on my way back from a Michigan-Texas trip just west of Texarkana. 2,500 mile trip and it ran like a top. Drove the whole 1,200 back in 17 hours.
