After 2 weeks of travelling in Turkey I found myself in Istanbul wanting a Frappucino. I check out the Starbucks website and to my surprise 1 store exists in Istanbul (I've scoped out Starbucks in Macao, Hong Kong, etc).

I figure out which bus to take and head on out. Of course Im confused in the bus and 2 people tried to help me out in Turkish (with me speaking English and Italian). I get off the bus and start walking in the direction the bus people tell me to go. I spot a parked silver MINI and I stop to admire. The owner comes out and I show him a picture of my MCS back here in NJ. He thinks its cool that an American with a MINI is admiring his car. He drives me to Starbucks (turns out I was quite lost) and I treat him to coffee. I even get a drive back to my hotel (he let me drive his car a few blocks).

3 of my favorite things in 1 night! Travel to an exotic locale, good coffee.. and a MINI!

Agreed. Plus how many of us actually do carry a pic of our car around with us.

 

thats great. As a Turk and a MINI owner I am glad to hear that MINI owners look out for each other everywhere. When we were in Istanbul during our honeymoon, I ran into at least three MINIs there.
